እኛም ግን አታዩም እንጅ ከእናንተ ይልቅ ወደእርሱ የቀረብን ስንኾን ፡ ፡

we are closer to him than you , but you cannot see .
እኛም ግን አታዩም እንጅ ከእናንተ ይልቅ ወደእርሱ የቀረብን ስንኾን ፡ ፡

we are nearer to it than you are , but you do not see .
እኛም ግን አታዩም እንጅ ከእናንተ ይልቅ ወደእርሱ የቀረብን ስንኾን ፡ ፡

and we are nearer to him than you are , but you cannot see .
እኛም ግን አታዩም እንጅ ከእናንተ ይልቅ ወደእርሱ የቀረብን ስንኾን ፡ ፡

we are closer to him than you , even though you cannot see ?
እኛም ግን አታዩም እንጅ ከእናንተ ይልቅ ወደእርሱ የቀረብን ስንኾን ፡ ፡

( and we are nigher him than you , but you do not see us )
እኛም ግን አታዩም እንጅ ከእናንተ ይልቅ ወደእርሱ የቀረብን ስንኾን ፡ ፡

this was how you considered your lord , but he knows you better than you know yourselves . thus , you are now lost " .
ይህም ያ በጌታችሁ የጠረጠራችሁት ጥርጣሪያችሁ አጠፋችሁ ፡ ፡ ከከሳሪዎቹም ኾናችሁ ( ይባላሉ ) ፡ ፡

— and we are nearer to him than you are , though you do not perceive —
እኛም ግን አታዩም እንጅ ከእናንተ ይልቅ ወደእርሱ የቀረብን ስንኾን ፡ ፡

– at that moment when we are closer to him than you , although you do not see ( us )
እኛም ግን አታዩም እንጅ ከእናንተ ይልቅ ወደእርሱ የቀረብን ስንኾን ፡ ፡

and they say : we are more ( than you ) in wealth and children . we are not the punished !
« እኛም በገንዘቦችና በልጆች ይበልጥ የበዛን ነን ፡ ፡ እኛም የምንቀጣ አይደለንም » አሉ ፡ ፡

recall when your sister walked along and said , " shall i guide you to one who will take care of him ? " thus we returned you to your mother , so that her eyes might be cooled and that she might not grieve .
« እኅትህም በምትኼድና የሚያሳድገውን ሰው ላመላክታችሁን በምትል ጊዜ ( መወደድን ጣልኩብህ ) ፡ ፡ ወደ እናትህም ዓይንዋ እንዲረጋ ( እርሷ ) እንዳታዝንም መለስንህ ፡ ፡ ነፍስንም ገደልክ ፡ ፡ ከጭንቅም አዳንንህ ፡ ፡ ፈተናዎችንም ፈተንህ ፡ ፡ በመድየን ቤተሰቦችም ውስጥ ( ብዙ ) ዓመታትን ተቀመጥክ ፡ ፡ ከዚያም ሙሳ ሆይ ! በተወሰነ ጊዜ ላይ መጣህ ፡ ፡

and if ye turn away , still i have conveyed unto you that wherewith i was sent unto you , and my lord will set in place of you a folk other than you . ye cannot injure him at all .
« ብትዞሩም በእርሱ ወደእናንተ የተላክሁበትን ነገር በእርግጥ አድርሼላችኋለሁ ፡ ፡ ጌታዬ ከእናንተ ሌላ ሕዝብም ይተካል ምንም አትጎዱትምም ፡ ፡ ጌታዬ በነገሩ ሁሉ ላይ ተጠባባቂ ነውና » ( አላቸው ) ፡ ፡

[ and we favored you ] when your sister went and said , ' shall i direct you to someone who will be responsible for him ? ' so we restored you to your mother that she might be content and not grieve .
« እኅትህም በምትኼድና የሚያሳድገውን ሰው ላመላክታችሁን በምትል ጊዜ ( መወደድን ጣልኩብህ ) ፡ ፡ ወደ እናትህም ዓይንዋ እንዲረጋ ( እርሷ ) እንዳታዝንም መለስንህ ፡ ፡ ነፍስንም ገደልክ ፡ ፡ ከጭንቅም አዳንንህ ፡ ፡ ፈተናዎችንም ፈተንህ ፡ ፡ በመድየን ቤተሰቦችም ውስጥ ( ብዙ ) ዓመታትን ተቀመጥክ ፡ ፡ ከዚያም ሙሳ ሆይ ! በተወሰነ ጊዜ ላይ መጣህ ፡ ፡

( more than that : ) moses came to you with clear signs , yet no sooner was he away from you than you transgressed and took the calf for worship .
ሙሳም በታምራቶች በእርግጥ መጣላችሁ ፡ ፡ ከዚያም ከበኋላው እናንተ በዳዮች ስትኾኑ ወይፈንን ( አምላክ አድርጋችሁ ) ያዛችሁ ፡ ፡

and thus he had abundant fruits . he said to his friend , as he conversed with him , “ i am wealthier than you , and greater in manpower . ”
ለእርሱም ( ከአትክልቶቹ ሌላ ፍሬያማ ) ሀብት ነበረው ፡ ፡ ለጓደኛውም ( ለአማኙ ) እርሱ የሚወዳደረው ሲኾን « እኔ ካንተ በገንዘብ ይበልጥ የበዛሁ በወገንም ይበልጥ የበረታሁ ነኝ » አለው ፡ ፡

( abundant ) was the produce this man had : he said to his companion , in the course of a mutual argument : " more wealth have i than you , and more honour and power in ( my following of ) men . "
ለእርሱም ( ከአትክልቶቹ ሌላ ፍሬያማ ) ሀብት ነበረው ፡ ፡ ለጓደኛውም ( ለአማኙ ) እርሱ የሚወዳደረው ሲኾን « እኔ ካንተ በገንዘብ ይበልጥ የበዛሁ በወገንም ይበልጥ የበረታሁ ነኝ » አለው ፡ ፡
