내 가 네 원 수 를 네 발 의 발 등 상 으 로 둘 때 까 지 내 우 편 에 앉 았 으 라 하 셨 도 다 하 였 느 니

verily the grip of thine lord is severe.
실로 그대 주님의 응벌은 엄하니라

thee do we worship, and thine aid we seek.
우리는 당신만을 경배하오며 당신에게만 구원을 비노니

hallow thou the name of thine lord, the most high,
가장 위에 계시는 주님의 이름을 찬미하라

and verily thine shall be a hire unending."
진실로 그대에게는 한없는 보상이 주어지리라

verily the torment of thine lord is sure to befalls
그대 주님의 벌은 반드시 내 릴 것이라

and lo! thine verily will be a reward unfailing.
진실로 그대에게는 한없는 보상이 주어지리라

and as to the favour of thine lord discourse thou thereof.
그리고 주님의 은혜를 이야기 하라

labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom.
부 자 되 기 에 애 쓰 지 말 고 네 사 사 로 운 지 혜 를 버 릴 지 어

i am thine, save me; for i have sought thy precepts.
주 의 모 든 계 명 이 의 로 우 므 로 내 혀 가 주 의 말 씀 을 노 래 할 지 니 이

bind them continually upon thine heart, and tie them about thy neck.
그 것 을 항 상 네 마 음 에 새 기 며 네 목 에 매

but thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face;
너 는 금 식 할 때 에 머 리 에 기 름 을 바 르 고 얼 굴 을 씻 으

blest be the name of thine lord, owner of majesty and beneficence!
권능과 영광으로 충만하신 주님 이름 위에 축복이 있으소서

and thou shalt take this rod in thine hand, wherewith thou shalt do signs.
너 는 이 지 팡 이 를 손 에 잡 고 이 것 으 로 이 적 을 행 할 지 니

read thine book; sufficeth to-day thy soul against thee as a reckoner.
그리고 그에게 말씀이 있으 리니 너의 기록을 읽으라 너를 계 산하는 오늘은 그것만으로 충분하 리라

and verily thine lord knoweth whatsoever their breasts conceal and whatsoever they make known.
그대의 주님께서는 그들의 마음이 감추는 것과 나타내는 것 도 아시고 계시거늘

therefore, when thou art free (from thine immediate task), still labour hard,
그러므로 쉬지 말고 노력하며
