نهيں ، نهيں تھا

has not there come to you the story of musa?
(اے رسول(ص)) کیا آپ(ص) کو موسیٰ(ع) کے قصہ کی خبر پہنچی ہے؟

certainly not! there will be no place of refuge.
بےشک کہیں پناہ نہیں

has not there come to you the news of the overwhelming calamity?
بھلا تم کو ڈھانپ لینے والی (یعنی قیامت کا) حال معلوم ہوا ہے

there it was that the believers were tried, and shaken most mightily.
اس موقع پر ایماندار آزمائے گئے اور سخت ہلا دیے گئے

but we found not there any just (muslim) persons except in one house:
اور اس میں ایک گھر کے سوا مسلمانوں کا کوئی گھر نہ پایا

we know well what they say, and you are not there to compel them. so admonish by the quran those who fear my threat.
یہ جو کچھ کہہ رہے ہیں ہم بخوبی جانتے ہیں اور آپ ان پر جبر کرنے والے نہیں، تو آپ قرآن کے ذریعے انہیں سمجھاتے رہیں جو میرے وعید (ڈرانے کے وعدوں) سے ڈرتے ہیں

they will not there hear any vain discourse, but only salutations of peace: and they will have therein their sustenance, morning and evening.
اس جنّت میں سلام کے علاوہ کوئی لغو آواز سننے میں نہ آئے گی اور انہیں صبح و شام رزق ملتا رہے گا

those who had charged shu'ayb with lying became as though-they had never lived there; it is they who became utter losers.
(یہ لوگ) جنہوں نے شعیب کی تکذیب کی تھی ایسے برباد ہوئے تھے کہ گویا وہ ان میں کبھی آباد ہی نہیں ہوئے تھے (غرض) جنہوں نے شعیب کو جھٹلایا وہ خسارے میں پڑگئے

he is the creator of the heavens and the earth: when he decrees a thing, he merely says, "be," and there it is.
(وہی) آسمانوں اور زمین کا موجد ہے۔ جب وہ کسی کام کے کرنے کا فیصلہ کر لیتا ہے۔ تو اسے بس اتنا ہی کہتا ہے کہ ہو جا اور وہ ہو جاتا ہے۔

but we found not there any household of the muslims except one [i.e. lout (lot) and his two daughters].
اور اس میں ایک گھر کے سوا مسلمانوں کا کوئی گھر نہ پایا

you were not there on the western side (of mount sinai) when we gave the commandments to moses, nor were you witness (to the event).
(اے محمدؐ) تم اُس وقت مغربی گوشے میں موجود نہ تھے جب ہم نے موسیٰؑ کو یہ فرمان شریعت عطا کیا، اور نہ تم شاہدین میں شامل تھے
