na tunaweka vifuniko juu ya nyoyo zao wasije wakaifahamu, na tunaweka kwenye masikio yao uziwi.

we have placed coverings over their hearts, lest they understand it, and heaviness in their ears.
hakika sisi tumeweka vifuniko juu ya nyoyo zao ili wasifahamu, na uziwi kwenye masikio yao.

and we drape veils over their hearts, preventing them from understanding it, and heaviness in their ears.
na tunaweka vifuniko juu ya nyoyo zao wasije wakaifahamu, na tunaweka kwenye masikio yao uziwi.

we have placed veils over their hearts lest they should understand it, and there is heaviness in their ears.
hakika sisi tumeweka vifuniko juu ya nyoyo zao ili wasifahamu, na uziwi kwenye masikio yao.

but as for those who do not believe: there is heaviness in their ears, and it is blindness for them.
na wasio amini umo uziwi katika masikio yao, nayo kwao imezibwa hawaioni.

we have laid veils over their hearts lest they understand the message of the qur'an, and we have caused heaviness in their ears.
hakika sisi tumeweka vifuniko juu ya nyoyo zao ili wasifahamu, na uziwi kwenye masikio yao.

when our verses are recited to him, he turns his back in pride, as though he never heard them, and in his ears was heaviness.
na (mtu kama huyo) anapo somewa aya zetu huzipa mgongo kwa kujivuna, kama kwamba hakuzisikia, kama kwamba masikioni mwake mna uziwi.

and we have placed coverings on their hearts and a heaviness in their ears lest they understand it, and when you mention your lord alone in the quran they turn their backs in aversion.
na tunaweka vifuniko juu ya nyoyo zao wasije wakaifahamu, na tunaweka kwenye masikio yao uziwi. na unapo mtaja katika qur'ani mola wako mlezi peke yake, basi wao hugeuka nyuma wakenda zao.

among them are those who listen to you; but we place covers over their hearts, to prevent them from understanding it, and heaviness in their ears.
na wapo miongoni mwao wanao kusikiliza; na tumezitia pazia nyoyo zao wasije kuyafahamu.

and we set up over their hearts veils lest they understand it, and in their ears heaviness and when thou mentionest in reciting the qur'an thy lord alone, they turn backward as averters.
na tunaweka vifuniko juu ya nyoyo zao wasije wakaifahamu, na tunaweka kwenye masikio yao uziwi. na unapo mtaja katika qur'ani mola wako mlezi peke yake, basi wao hugeuka nyuma wakenda zao.

they say: “our hearts are securely wrapped up against what you call us to, and in our ears is a heaviness, and between you and us there is a veil.
na wakasema: nyoyo zetu zimo katika vifuniko kwa hayo unayo tuitia, na masikio yetu yana uziwi, na baina yetu na wewe lipo pazia.

and as for those who disbelieve, there is heaviness (deafness) in their ears, and it (the quran) is blindness for them.
na wasio amini umo uziwi katika masikio yao, nayo kwao imezibwa hawaioni.

and they say: our hearts are under coverings from that to which you call us, and there is a heaviness in our ears, and a veil hangs between us and you, so work, we too are working.
na wakasema: nyoyo zetu zimo katika vifuniko kwa hayo unayo tuitia, na masikio yetu yana uziwi, na baina yetu na wewe lipo pazia. basi wewe tenda, nasi tunatenda.

(it is) a scripture that is revealed unto thee (muhammad) - so let there be no heaviness in thy heart therefrom - that thou mayst warn thereby, and (it is) a reminder unto believers.
kitabu kilicho teremshwa kwako - basi isiwe dhiki kifuani kwako kwa ajili yake, upate kuonya kwacho, na kiwe ni ukumbusho kwa waumini.
