akasema (sulaiman): tutatazama umesema kweli au wewe ni miongoni mwa waongo.

he said, “we will see, whether you have spoken the truth, or whether you are a liar.
akasema (sulaiman): tutatazama umesema kweli au wewe ni miongoni mwa waongo.

(solomon) said: "soon shall we see whether thou hast told the truth or lied!
akasema (sulaiman): tutatazama umesema kweli au wewe ni miongoni mwa waongo.

said sulaiman, “we shall now see whether you spoke the truth or are among the liars.”
akasema (sulaiman): tutatazama umesema kweli au wewe ni miongoni mwa waongo.

(solomon) said: we shall see whether thou speakest truth or whether thou art of the liars.

and so that he might cut off a portion of those who are bent on denying the truth or abase them so that they might be turned back frustrated.
haya ni kwa ajili awakate sehemu katika walio kufuru, au awahizi wapate kurejea nyuma nao wamepwelewa.

then who is more worthy of being followed -- he who guides to the truth, or he who cannot find the path until shown the way?

[sulaiman (solomon)] said: "we shall see whether you speak the truth or you are (one) of the liars.
akasema (sulaiman): tutatazama umesema kweli au wewe ni miongoni mwa waongo.

he said, "disguise for her her throne; we will see whether she will be guided [to truth] or will be of those who is not guided."
akasema: mgeuzieni kiti chake cha enzi hiki, tuone ataongoka, au atakuwa miongoni mwa wasio ongoka.

and indeed we have distributed it (rain or water) amongst them in order that they may remember the grace of allah, but most men refuse (or deny the truth or faith) and accept nothing but disbelief or ingratitude.
na kwa yakini tumeisarifu kati yao wapate kukumbuka. lakini watu wengi wanakataa ila kukufuru.

say: the things that my lord hath indeed forbidden are: shameful deeds, whether open or secret; sins and trespasses against truth or reason; assigning of partners to allah, for which he hath given no authority; and saying things about allah of which ye have no knowledge.
sema: mola mlezi wangu ameharimisha mambo machafu ya dhaahiri na ya siri, na dhambi, na uasi bila ya haki, na kumshirikisha mwenyezi mungu na asicho kiletea uthibitisho, na kumzulia mwenyezi mungu msiyo yajua.
