verily we have made whatsoever is on the earth as an adornment thereof, that we may prove them - which of them is best in work.
(மனிதர்களில் அழகிய செயலுடையவர்கள் யார் என்று அவர்களைச் சோதிப்பதற்காக, நிச்சயமாக பூமியிலுள்ளவற்றை அதற்கு அலங்காரமாக நாம் ஆக்கினோம்.

then we sent, after them, moses with our signs to pharaoh and his council, but they did them wrong; so behold thou, how was the end of the workers of corruption!
அவர்களுக்குப் பிறகு, மூஸாவை நம் அத்தாட்சிகளுடன் ஃபிர்அவ்னிடத்திலும் அவனுடைய தலைவர்களிடத்திலும் நாம் அனுப்பிவைத்தோம்; அப்போது அவர்கள் அவற்றை (நிராகரித்து) அநியாயம் செய்து விட்டார்கள்; இத்தகைய குழப்பக்காரர்களின் முடிவு எப்படியிருந்தது என்பதை கவனிப்பீராக!

then we passed the book to those of our servants whom we chose. some of them wrong their souls, and some follow a middle course, and some are in the foremost in good deeds by god’s leave; that is the greatest blessing.
பின்னர் நம் அடியார்களில் நாம் எவர்களைத் தேர்ந்தெடுத்தோமோ, அவர்களை அவ்வேதத்திற்கு வாரிசாக்கினோம்; ஆனால் அவர்களிலிருந்து தமக்குத் தாமே அநியாயம் செய்து கொண்டவர்களும் உண்டு, அவர்களிலிருந்து நடுநிலையா நடந்து கொண்டவர்களும் உண்டு, இன்னும் அவர்களிலிருந்து, அல்லாஹ்வி; ன அனுமதி கொண்டு நன்மைகள் செய்வதில் முந்திக் கொண்டவர்களும் உண்டு. இதுவே மாபெரும் பாக்கியமாகும்.

then we bequeathed the book to those of our servants that we chose. now, some of them wrong themselves and some follow the medium course; and some, by allah's leave, vie with each other in acts of goodness. that is the great bounty.
