in a few years. the matter is up to god, in the past, and in the future. on that day, the believers will rejoice.
சில வருடங்களுக்குள்ளேயே! (இதற்கு) முன்னும், (இதற்கு) பின்னும், (வெற்றி தோல்வி குறித்த) அதிகாரம் அல்லாஹ்வுக்குத்தான்; (ரோமர்கள் வெற்றி பெறும்) அந்நாளில் முஃமின்கள் மகிழ்வடைவார்கள்.

and pleased with the result of their deeds in the past.
தம் முயற்சி (நற்பயன் அடைந்தது) பற்றி திருப்தியுடன் இருக்கும்.

troubled and tired as a result of their deeds in the past.
அவை (தவறான காரியங்களை நல்லவை என கருதி) செயல்பட்டவையும் (அதிலேயே) உறுதியாக நின்றவையுமாகும்.

in the past noah's people, and the people of rass and thamud gave the lie (to messengers),
இவர்களுக்கு முன்னர் இருந்த நூஹுடைய சமூகத்தாரும், ரஸ்ஸு (கிணற்று) வாசிகளும், ஸமூது மக்களும் (இவ்வாறு மறுமையை) மறுத்தார்கள்.

although they had made a pledged to god, in the past, that they will not turn their backs. a pledge to god is a responsibility.
எனினும், அவர்கள் (போரிலிருந்து) புறங்காட்டி ஓடுவதில்லை என்று அல்லாஹ்விடத்தில் இதற்கு முன்னர் நிச்சயமாக வாக்குறுதி செய்திருந்தார்கள்; ஆகவே, அல்லாஹ்விடம் செய்த வாக்குறுதி பற்றி (அவர்களிடம்) கேட்கப்படும்.

and they will never long for it, because of the evil deeds they have done in the past; and allah knows the unjust, very well.
ஆனால், அவர்கள் கரங்கள் செய்த (பாவங்களை) அவர்கள் முன்னமேயே அனுப்பி வைத்திருந்த காரணத்தால் அவர்கள் மரணத்தை விரும்பவே மாட்டார்கள். நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் அந்த அக்கிரமக்காரர்களை நன்கு அறிந்தவனாகவே இருக்கிறான்.

and (oft) in the past, have we destroyed gangs like unto you: then is there any that will receive admonition?
(நிராகரிப்போரே!) உங்களில் எத்தனையோ வகுப்பார்களை நாம், நிச்சயமாக அழித்திருக்கின்றோம், எனவே (இதிலிருந்து) நல்லுணர்வு பெறுவோர் உண்டா?

then each will see what he had done in the past; and they will turn to god, their true lord, and all the lies they had fabricated will be of no avail to them.
அங்கு ஒவ்வோர் ஆன்மாவும் தான் செய்தனுப்பிய செயல்களின் பயன்களைச் சோதித்துப் பார்த்துக் கொள்வர் - பின்பு அவர்கள் தங்கள் உண்மை இறைவனான அல்லாஹ்வின் பக்கம் திரும்பக் கொண்டு வரப்படுவார்கள் - அவர்கள் கற்பனை செய்து கொண்ட தெய்வங்கள் அனைத்தும் அவர்களை விட்டு மறைந்து விடும்.

all matters of the past and future are in the hands of god. the believers will enjoy the help of god on that day.
சில வருடங்களுக்குள்ளேயே! (இதற்கு) முன்னும், (இதற்கு) பின்னும், (வெற்றி தோல்வி குறித்த) அதிகாரம் அல்லாஹ்வுக்குத்தான்; (ரோமர்கள் வெற்றி பெறும்) அந்நாளில் முஃமின்கள் மகிழ்வடைவார்கள்.

but their belief when they saw our might did not profit them -- the wont of god, as in the past, touching his servants; then the unbelievers shall be lost.
ஆயினும், நம் (கட்டளையால் உண்டான) வேதனையைக் கண்டபோது, அவர்கள் கொண்ட நம்பிக்கை அவர்களுக்குப் பயனளிக்கவில்லை. (இதுவே) அல்லாஹ்வுடைய வழியாகும்; அவனுடைய அடியார்களுக்கு (முன்னரும் இவ்வாறே) நிகழ்ந்திருக்கின்றது. ஆதலால், அந்நேரத்தில் காஃபிர்கள் நஷ்டத்தையே அடைந்தார்கள்.

such is allah's way that has come down from the past. never shall you find any change in the way of allah.
இவ்வாறு செய்வதே அல்லாஹ்வுடைய ஸுன்னத்து (நடைமுறை) ஆகும், இதற்கு முன்பும் (இவ்வாறு) நடந்திருக்கிறது - ஆகவே அல்லாஹ்வுடைய ஸுன்னத்தில் - (நடைமுறையில்) நீர் எவ்வித மாறுதலையும் காணமாட்டீர்.

and between them and their desires, is placed a barrier, as was done in the past with their partisans: for they were indeed in suspicious (disquieting) doubt.
மேலும், அவர்களுடைய கூட்டத்தாருக்கு முன்னர் செய்யப்பட்டது போல் அவர்களுக்கும் அவர்கள் இச்சித்து வந்தவற்றுக்கும் இடையே திரை போடப்படும்; நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் ஆழ்ந்த சந்தேகத்திலேயே இருந்தார்கள்.

(o muhammad), by revealing the qur'an to you we narrate to you in the best manner the stories of the past although before this narration you were utterly unaware of them.
(நபியே!) நாம் வஹீ மூலம் உம் மீது இந்த குர்ஆனை அருள் செய்தது கொண்டு மிக அழகான வரலாற்றை உமக்கு நாம் கூறுகின்றோம் - இதற்குமுன் (இது குறித்து) ஏதம் அறியாதவர்களில் (ஒருவராய்) நீர் இருந்தீர்.

allah wants to make all this clear to you, and to guide you to the ways which the righteous have followed in the past. he will turn graciously towards you. allah is all-knowing, all-wise.
அல்லாஹ் (தன்னுடைய சட்டங்களை) உங்களுக்குத் தெளிவாக விளக்கவும், உங்களுக்கு முன் இருந்த (நல்ல)வர்கள் சென்ற (நேரான) வழிகளில் உங்களைச் செலுத்தவும், உங்களுக்கு பாவமன்னிப்பு அருளவுமே விரும்புகிறான். இன்னும் அல்லாஹ் நன்கு அறிந்தோனாகவும், ஞானமுடையோனாகவும் இருக்கின்றான்.
