(அதற்கு இறைவன்,) "இவ்விதம்தான் இருக்கும்; நம்முடைய வசனங்கள் உன்னிடம் வந்தன அவற்றை நீ மறந்துவிட்டாய்; அவ்வாறே இன்றைய தினம் நீயும் மறக்கப்பட்டு விட்டாய்" என்று கூறுவான்.

in the same way, whenever we had sent a messenger before you to warn a town, the rich ones therein said, "we found our fathers following a certain belief and we follow in their footsteps.
இவ்வாறே உமக்கு முன்னரும் நாம் (நம்முடைய) தூதரை எந்த ஊருக்கு அனுப்பினாலும், அவர்களில் செல்வந்தர்கள்; "நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் எங்கள் மூதாதையரை ஒரு மார்க்கத்தில் கண்டோம்; நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் அவர்களின் அடிச்சவடுகளையே பின்பற்றுகின்றோம்" என்று கூறாதிருக்கவில்லை.

do those who commit evil deeds imagine that we shall deal with them in the same way as we deal with those who have attained to faith and do righteous deeds, that they will be alike in their living and their dying? how badly they judge!
