then they branded him a liar, whereupon the chastisement of the day of canopy overtook them. it was the chastisement of a very awesome day.
நிச்சயமாக இதிலே ஓர் அத்தாட்சி இருக்கிறது எனினும் அவர்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் நம்பிக்கை கொள்வதில்லை.

or that he will not seize them in the midst of their bustle, whereupon they will not be able to frustrate [him]?
அல்லது அவர்களின் போக்குவரத்தின்போதே (அல்லாஹ்) அவர்களைப் பிடிக்க மாட்டான் (என்று அச்சமற்றவர்களாக இருக்கிறார்களா? அல்லாஹ் அவ்வாறு செய்தால் அவனை) அவர்கள் இயலாமலாக்க முடியாது.

(whereupon) the best among them said: 'did i not say to you to exalt (allah)'
அவர்களில் நடுநிலையுள்ள ஒருவர் "நீங்கள் தஸ்பீஹு செய்திருக்க வேண்டும் என்று நான் உங்களுக்கு கூறவில்லையா?" என்று கூறினார்.

you are aware of those who transgressed in the matter of the sabbath, whereupon we said to them, "be as apes, despised!"

but they hamstrung her, whereupon he said, ‘enjoy yourselves in your homes for three days: that is a promise not to be belied!’
ஆனால் அவர்கள் அதனை கொன்று விட்டார்கள்; ஆகவே அவர் (அம்மக்களிடம்); "நீங்கள் உங்களுடைய வீடுகளில் மூன்று நாள்களுக்கு சகமனுபவியுங்கள்; (பின்னர் உங்களுக்கு அழிவு வந்துவிடும்.) இது பொய்ப்பிக்க முடியாத வாக்குறுதியாகும் என்று கூறினார்.

and so they ate from it; whereupon their bodies became visible to them, and they started covering themselves with the leaves of the garden. thus adam disobeyed his lord, and fell.

and the trumpet will be sounded, whereupon everyone in the heavens and the earth will be stunned, except whomever god wills. then it will be sounded another time, whereupon they will rise up, looking on.
ஸூர் (எக்காளம்) ஊதப்பட்டால் உடன் வானங்களில் உள்ளவர்களும், பூமியில் உள்ளவர்களும் - அல்லாஹ் நாடியவர்களைத் தவிர - மூர்ச்சித்து விடுவார்கள்; பிறகு அதில் மறு தடவை ஊதப்பட்டதும் உடன் அவர்கள் யாவரும் எழுந்து, எதிர் நோக்கி நிற்பார்கள்.

when we decide to destroy a town we command the affluent among them, whereupon they commit sins in it, then the decree (of chastisement) becomes due against them and thereafter we destroy that town utterly.

[one day] he entered the city at a time when its people were not likely to take notice. he found there two men fighting, this one from among his followers, and that one from his enemies. the one who was from his followers sought his help against him who was from his enemies. so moses hit him with his fist, whereupon he expired. he said, ‘this is of satan’s doing. indeed he is clearly a misguiding enemy.’
