உர் அனைத்து விருப்பங்களையும் கண்டு நான் மகிழ்ச்சியடைகிறேன்

only they attain it who forbear, and only a man of great good fortune can achieve it.
பொறுமையாக இருந்தார்களே அவர்கள் தவிர வேறு யாரும் அதை அடைய மாட்டார்கள் மேலும், மகத்தான நற்பாக்கியம் உடையவர்கள் தவிர, வேறு யாரும் அதை அடைய மாட்டார்கள்.

and none attaineth that except those who are patient; and none attaineth that except the owner of mighty good fortune,
பொறுமையாக இருந்தார்களே அவர்கள் தவிர வேறு யாரும் அதை அடைய மாட்டார்கள் மேலும், மகத்தான நற்பாக்கியம் உடையவர்கள் தவிர, வேறு யாரும் அதை அடைய மாட்டார்கள்.

and none are made to receive it but those who are patient, and none are made to receive it but those who have a mighty good fortune.
பொறுமையாக இருந்தார்களே அவர்கள் தவிர வேறு யாரும் அதை அடைய மாட்டார்கள் மேலும், மகத்தான நற்பாக்கியம் உடையவர்கள் தவிர, வேறு யாரும் அதை அடைய மாட்டார்கள்.

and no one will be granted such goodness except those who exercise patience and self-restraint,- none but persons of the greatest good fortune.
பொறுமையாக இருந்தார்களே அவர்கள் தவிர வேறு யாரும் அதை அடைய மாட்டார்கள் மேலும், மகத்தான நற்பாக்கியம் உடையவர்கள் தவிர, வேறு யாரும் அதை அடைய மாட்டார்கள்.

and if, after adversity, we let him taste good fortune he says, "all my ills are gone." he becomes exultant and boastful.
அவனுக்கு ஏற்பட்ட துன்பத்திற்குப் பின், நாம் அருட்கொடைகளை அவன் அனுபவிக்கும்படிச் செய்தால், "என்னை விட்டுக் கேடுகள் எல்லாம் போய்விட்டன" என்று நிச்சயமாகக் கூறுவான். நிச்சயமாக அவன் பெருமகிழ்ச்சியும் பெருமையும் கொள்பவனாக இருக்கின்றான்.

"and keep your duty to him, fear him who has aided you with all (good things) that you know.
"அவன் உங்களுக்கு (ஆடு, மாடு, ஒட்டகை போன்ற) கால்நடைகளையும், பிள்ளைகளையும் கொண்டு உதவியளித்தான்.

and if grace from allah come to you, he would certainly cry out, as if there had not been any friendship between you and him: would that i had been with them, then i should have attained a mighty good fortune.
அல்லாஹ்விடமிருந்து உங்களுக்கு ஒரு பாக்கியம் கிடைக்குமானால், உங்களுக்கும் அவர்களுக்கு மிடையே நேசமே இல்லாத (அன்னியர்கள்) போல்; "நானும் அவர்களுடன் இருந்திருக்கக் கூடாதா? நானும் பெரும் பாக்கியத்தை அடைந்திருப்பேனே!" என்று நிச்சயமாகக் கூறுவார்கள்.

then he came before his people in all pomp; and those enamoured of this world, said: "ah would that we had what qarun has been given! he indeed possesses great good fortune."
அப்பால், அவன் (கர்வத்துடனும், உலக) அலங்காரத்துடன் தன் சமூகத்தரிடையே சென்றான்; (அப்போது) இவ்வுலக வாழ்க்கையை எவர் விரும்புகிறார்களோ அவர்கள்; "ஆ! காரூனுக்கு கொடுக்கப்படடதைப் போன்று நமக்கும் இருக்கக்கூடாதா? நிச்சயமாக, அவன் மகத்தான பாக்கியமுடையவன்"' என்று கூறினார்கள்.

if good fortune befalls thee, it vexes them; but if thou art visited by an affliction, they say, 'we took our dispositions before', and turn away, rejoicing.
உமக்கு ஏதாவது ஒரு நன்மை ஏற்பட்டால், அது அவர்களுக்குத் துக்கத்தைத் தருகின்றது உமக்கு ஏதாவது துன்பம் ஏற்பட்டால், அவர்கள் "நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் எங்களுடைய காரியத்தில் முன்னரே எச்சரிக்கையாக இருந்து கொண்டோம்" என்று கூறிவிட்டு மிக்க மகிழ்ச்சியுடன் (உம்மை விட்டுச்) சென்று விடுகிறார்கள்.

and if allah afflicts you with some misfortune, then there is none who can remove it, except him; and if he sends you some good fortune, then (know that) he is able to do all things.
"(நபியே!) அல்லாஹ் உமக்கு ஏதாவதொரு துன்பத்தை ஏற்படுத்திவிட்டால் அவனைத் தவிர (வேறு யாரும்) அதை நீக்க முடியாது. இன்னும் அவன் ஒரு நன்மையை உண்டாக்கிவிட்டால், (அதை எவரும் தடுக்க முடியாது.) அவன் எல்லாப் பொருட்கள் மீதும் பேராற்றலுடையவனாக இருக்கின்றான்.

[musa (moses)] said: "verily, you know that these signs have been sent down by none but the lord of the heavens and the earth as clear (evidences i.e. proofs of allah's oneness and his omnipotence, etc.). and i think you are, indeed, o fir'aun (pharaoh) doomed to destruction (away from all good)!"
(அதற்கு) மூஸா "வானங்களையும் பூமியையும் படைத்த இறைவனைத் தவிர (வேறு யாரும்) இவற்றைத் தெளிவான சான்றுகளாக அனுப்பவில்லை என்பதை நிச்சயமாக நீ அறிவாய்; ஃபிர்அவ்னே! நிச்சயமாக நீ அழிக்கப்பட இருக்கிறாய் என்று (உன்னைப் பற்றி) நான் எண்ணுகின்றேன்" என்று கூறினார்.
