and the lord said unto him, surely i will be with thee, and thou shalt smite the midianites as one man.
พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสกับเขาว่า "แต่เราจะอยู่กับเจ้าแน่ และเจ้าจะได้โจมตีคนมีเดียนอย่างกับตีคนคนเดียว

and israel was greatly impoverished because of the midianites; and the children of israel cried unto the lord.
พวกอิสราเอลจึงตกต่ำลงมากเพราะคนมีเดียน คนอิสราเอลก็ร้องทุกข์ถึงพระเยโฮวาห

do unto them as unto the midianites; as to sisera, as to jabin, at the brook of kison:
ขอทรงทำกับเขาอย่างพระองค์ทรงกระทำกับมีเดียน อย่างที่ทำกับสิเสราและยาบินที่ลำธารคีโช

and the midianites sold him into egypt unto potiphar, an officer of pharaoh's, and captain of the guard.
แล้วคนมีเดียนก็ขายโยเซฟในอียิปต์ไว้กับโปทิฟาร์ข้าราชสำนักของฟาโรห์ ผู้บัญชาการทหารรักษาพระองค

then all the midianites and the amalekites and the children of the east were gathered together, and went over, and pitched in the valley of jezreel.
ครั้งนั้นบรรดาคนมีเดียน และคนอามาเลข และชาวตะวันออกก็รวมกันยกทัพข้ามไปตั้งค่ายอยู่ในหุบเขายิสเรเอ

and the men of israel gathered themselves together out of naphtali, and out of asher, and out of all manasseh, and pursued after the midianites.
คนอิสราเอลถูกเรียกออกมาจากนัฟทาลี และจากอาเชอร์ และจากทั่วมนัสเสห์ และพร้อมกันติดตามพวกมีเดียนไ

and moses spake unto the people, saying, arm some of yourselves unto the war, and let them go against the midianites, and avenge the lord of midian.
และโมเสสกล่าวกับประชาชนว่า "จงเตรียมคนบางคนในพวกเจ้าให้พร้อมด้วยอาวุธเพื่อทำสงคราม แล้วยกไปสู้พวกมีเดียนเพื่อกระทำการแก้แค้นของพระเยโฮวาห์ต่อคนมีเดีย

and so it was, when israel had sown, that the midianites came up, and the amalekites, and the children of the east, even they came up against them;
เพราะว่าคนอิสราเอลหว่านพืชเมื่อไร คนมีเดียนและคนอามาเลขและชาวตะวันออกก็ขึ้นมาสู้รบกับเข

but we raised up generations, and long their lives continued. neither wast thou a dweller among the midianites, reciting to them our signs; but we were sending messengers.
และแต่ทว่าเราได้บังเกิดอีกหลายศตวรรษ แล้วการมีชีวิตอยู่ก็ยืนยาวแก่พวกเเขา และเจ้ามิได้ปรากฏอยู่ร่วมกับกลุ่มชนมัดยัน เพื่อสาธยายโองการทั้งหลายของเราแก่พวกเขา แต่ว่าแท้จริงเราเป็นผู้ส่ง (เจ้ามา)

then there passed by midianites merchantmen; and they drew and lifted up joseph out of the pit, and sold joseph to the ishmeelites for twenty pieces of silver: and they brought joseph into egypt.
ขณะนั้นพวกพ่อค้าชาวมีเดียนกำลังผ่านมา พวกพี่ชายก็ฉุดโยเซฟขึ้นจากบ่อ ขายให้แก่คนอิชมาเอลเป็นเงินยี่สิบเหรียญ คนอิชมาเอลก็พาโยเซฟไปยังอียิปต

and gideon said unto him, oh my lord, if the lord be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, did not the lord bring us up from egypt? but now the lord hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the midianites.
กิเดโอนจึงทูลท่านผู้นั้นว่า "โอ ท่านเจ้าข้า ถ้าพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงสถิตกับพวกเราแล้ว ไฉนเหตุเหล่านี้จึงเกิดขึ้นแก่เราเล่า และการอัศจรรย์ทั้งหลายของพระองค์ซึ่งบรรพบุรุษเคยเล่าให้เราฟังว่า `พระเยโฮวาห์ทรงนำเราออกจากอียิปต์มิใช่หรือ' แต่สมัยนี้พระเยโฮวาห์ทรงทอดทิ้งเราเสียแล้ว และทรงมอบเราไว้ในมือของพวกมีเดียน
