so that my soul chooseth strangling, and death rather than my life.
จิตใจข้าพระองค์จึงเลือกที่จะถูกรัดคอตาย และเลือกความตายแทนชีวิตของข้าพระองค

forbidden for you are carrion, and blood, and flesh of swine, and that which has been slaughtered while proclaiming the name of any other than allah, and one killed by strangling, and one killed with blunt weapons, and one which died by falling, and that which was gored by the horns of some animal, and one eaten by a wild beast, except those whom you slaughter; and (also forbidden is) that which is slaughtered at the altar (of idols) and that which is distributed by the throwing of arrows (as an omen); this is an act of sin; this day, the disbelievers are in despair concerning your religion, so do not fear them and fear me; this day have i perfected your religion for you* and completed my favour upon you, and have chosen islam as your religion; so whoever is forced by intense hunger and thirst and does not incline towards sin, then indeed allah is oft forgiving, most merciful. (*prophet mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him – is the last prophet.)
ได้ถูกห้ามแก่พวกเจ้าแล้ว ซึ่งสัตว์ที่ตายเอง และเลือด และเนื้อสุกร และสัตว์ที่ถูกเปล่งนามอื่นจากอัลลอฮ์ ที่มัน (ขณะเชือด) และสัตว์ที่ถูกรัดคอตาย และสัตว์ที่ถูกตีตาย และสัตว์ที่ตกเหวตาย และสัตว์ที่ถูกขวิดตาย และสัตว์ที่สัตว์ร้ายกัดกิน นอกจากที่พวกเจ้าเชือดกัน และสัตว์ที่ถูกเชือดบนแท่นหินบูชา และการที่พวกเจ้าเสี่ยงทายด้วยไม้ติ้ว เหล่านั้นเป็นการละเมิด วันนี้ บรรดาผู้ปฏิเสธการศรัทธา หมดหวังในศาสนาของพวกเจ้าแล้ว ดังนั้นพวกเจ้าจงอย่ากลัวพวกเขา และจงกลัวข้าเถิด วันนี้ข้าได้ให้สมบูรณ์แก่พวกเจ้าแล้ว ซึ่งศาสนาของพวกเจ้าและข้าได้ให้ครบถ้วนแก่พวกเจ้าแล้ว ซึ่งความกรุณาเมตตาของข้า และข้าได้เลือกอิสลามให้เป็นศาสนาแก่พวกเจ้าแล้ว ผู้ใดได้รับความคับขันในความหิวโหย โดยมิใช่เป็นผู้จงใจกระทำบาปแล้วไซร้ แน่นอนอัลลอฮ์นั้นเป็นผู้ทรงอภัยโทษผู้ทรงเมตตาเสมอ
