fue lindo y divertido en muchos lugares, pero dirigido, en mi propia interpretación, a echar la culpa a la gente de las estrellas y no donde corresponde, ya que faltaba un poco de comprensión.
it was cute and funny in many places, but managed in my own interpretation to put the blame on the star people and not where it belongs, it was missing a bit of understanding.

el tiempo de la revolución fue lindo en ese sentido: no sentías que siempre te faltaba algo, que todo el tiempo querías tener y tener y tener, te dabas cuenta de lo que pasaba a tu alrededor.
the revolutionary years were nice in that regard: you didn’t feel you were always missing something, that you always had to have and have and have; you were more aware of what was going on around you.

fue duro al principio porque yo era un pequeño niño yendo a un colegio japonés y despertándose como a las 7 de la mañana los sábados y la mayoría de los otros niños tenían puestos sus pijamas con una gran taza de cereales mirando los dibujitos aunque fue lindo. siempre fingía estar enfermo al principio y después mis padres dirían que si estaba enfermo como para ir al colegio también lo estaba también para jugar afuera, entonces iba al colegio y regresaba a casa y jugaba.
it was hard going at first because, you know i’m a little kid going to japanese school waking up like at 7 o’clock on saturdays and most kids have their pajamas on with the big bowl of cereal watching cartoons and it was pretty tough. i’d always try to fake like i was sick at first and then my parents would say if i was too sick to go to school i was too sick to play outside so i’d suck it up and go to school and came back home and play.

en trapani, durante las procesiones de la pascua, con su caos, las situaciones que se presentaban fueron para mí una dura prueba. afortunadamente, el mar, donde podía descansar mi vista, estaba cerca, y fue lindo poder aislarme por un momento de la música de las bandas, mientras probaba bolitas de arroz rellenas de mantequilla y jamón. entendí que para tomar una imagen bonita se necesitaba mucho trabajo y perseverancia.
in trapani, the easter processions, with their many-sided chaotic, situations were a tough trial for me. luckily the sea, where i could rest my eye, was close, and it was beautiful to be able to isolate myself for a while with the music of the bands in my head while tasting a butter and ham rice ball. i understood that in order to take a beautiful image requires a lot of hard work and perseverance.
