ताकि जो कुछ हमने उन्हें दिया है उसके प्रति वे इस तरह कृतघ्नता दिखाएँ , और ताकि इस तरह से मज़े उड़ा ले । अच्छा तो वे शीघ्र ही जान लेंगे

that was the requital we gave them because they ungratefully rejected faith : and never do we give requital except to such as are ungrateful rejecters .
यह बदला हमने उन्हें इसलिए दिया कि उन्होंने कृतध्नता दिखाई । ऐसा बदला तो हम कृतध्न लोगों को ही देते है

do they not see that we have given them a sanctuary of safety whereas people around them are being snatched away ? so , do they believe in falsehood and ungratefully deny allah ' s bounties ?
क्या उन लोगों ने इस पर ग़ौर नहीं किया कि हमने हरम को अमन व इत्मेनान की जगह बनाया हालॉकि उनके गिर्द व नवाह से लोग उचक ले जाते हैं तो क्या ये लोग झूठे माबूदों पर ईमान लाते हैं और ख़ुदा की नेअमत की नाशुक्री करते हैं

and allah propoundeth a similitude : a town which was secure and at rest , to which came the provision thereof plenteously from every place ; then it ungratefully denied the favours of allah ; wherefore allah made it taste the extreme of hunger and fear because of that which they were wont to perform .
अल्लाह ने एक मिसाल बयान की हैः एक बस्ती थी जो निश्चिन्त और सन्तुष्ट थी । हर जगह से उसकी रोज़ी प्रचुरता के साथ चली आ रही थी कि वह अल्लाह की नेमतों के प्रति अकृतज्ञता दिखाने लगी । तब अल्लाह ने उसके निवासियों को उनकी करतूतों के बदले में भूख का मज़ा चख़ाया और भय का वस्त्र पहनाया
