और अगर हम उनको इस रसूल से पहले अज़ाब से हलाक कर डालते तो ज़रूर कहते कि ऐ हमारे पालने वाले तूने हमारे पास रसूल क्यों न भेजा तो हम अपने ज़लील व रूसवा होने से पहले तेरी आयतों की पैरवी ज़रूर करते

had we destroyed them with a punishment before it, they would have surely said, ‘our lord! why did you not send us an apostle so that we might have followed your signs before we were abased and disgraced?’
यदि हम उसके पहले इन्हें किसी यातना से विनष्ट कर देते तो ये कहते कि "ऐ हमारे रब, तूने हमारे पास कोई रसूल क्यों न भेजा कि इससे पहले कि हम अपमानित और रुसवा होते, तेरी आयतों का अनुपालन करने लगते?"

and in case disaster comes upon them for what they have done themselves , they should say : " o lord , why did you not send an apostle to us that we should have followed your commands , and been with those who are believers ; "
यदि यह बात न होती कि जो कुछ उनके हाथ आगे भेज चुके है उसके कारण जब उनपर कोई मुसीबत आए तो वे कहने लगें , " ऐ हमारे रब , तूने क्यों न हमारी ओर कोई रसूल भेजा कि हम तेरी आयतों का करते और मोमिन होते ? "

and if not that a disaster should strike them for what their hands put forth and they would say , " our lord , why did you not send us a messenger so we could have followed your verses and been among the believers ? " . . .
और अगर ये नही होता कि जब उन पर उनकी अगली करतूतों की बदौलत कोई मुसीबत पड़ती तो बेसाख्ता कह बैठते कि परवरदिगार तूने हमारे पास कोई पैग़म्बर क्यों न भेजा कि हम तेरे हुक्मों पर चलते और ईमानदारों में होते

and why did you not , when you heard it , say : it does not beseem us that we should talk of it ; glory be to thee ! this is a great calumny ?
और जब तुमने ऐसी बात सुनी थी तो तुमने लोगों से क्यों न कह दिया कि हमको ऐसी बात मुँह से निकालनी मुनासिब नहीं सुबहान अल्लाह ये बड़ा भारी बोहतान है

and had we destroyed them with some punishment before the advent of a noble messenger , they would have certainly said , “ our lord , why did you not send a noble messenger to us , so we would have followed your signs , before being humiliated and disgraced ? ”
और अगर हम उनको इस रसूल से पहले अज़ाब से हलाक कर डालते तो ज़रूर कहते कि ऐ हमारे पालने वाले तूने हमारे पास रसूल क्यों न भेजा तो हम अपने ज़लील व रूसवा होने से पहले तेरी आयतों की पैरवी ज़रूर करते

and lest—if an affliction were to befall them because of what their hands have sent ahead —they should say , ‘our lord ! why did you not send us an apostle so that we might have followed your signs and been among the faithful ? ’
