leave alone those who take their religion for a sport and a diversion, and whom the present life has deluded. remind hereby, lest a soul should be given up to destruction for what it has earned; apart from god, it has no protector and no intercessor; though it offer any equivalent, it shall not be taken from it. those are they who are given up to destruction for what they have earned; for them awaits a draught of boiling water and a painful chastisement, for that they were unbelievers.
(நபியே!) யார் தங்கள் மார்க்கத்தை விளையாட்டாகவும் வெறும் வேடிக்கையாகவும் எடுத்துக் கொண்டார்களோ, இன்னும் யாரை இவ்வுலக வாழ்க்கை ஏமாற்றி விட்டதோ அவர்களை விட்டுவிடும். எனினும் அவர்களுக்கு ஒவ்வோர் ஆன்மாவும் தான் செய்த செயல்களின் காரணமாக ஆபத்தில் சிக்கிக்கொள்ளும் (எனும் உண்மையை) குர்ஆனைக் கொண்டு நினைவுறுத்தும். அந்த ஆத்மாவுக்கு அல்லாஹ்வைத்தவிர வேறு பாதுகாவலரோ, பரிந்து பேசுபவரோ இல்லை (தாங்கள் செய்த பாவத்திற்கு) ஈடாக (தங்களால் இயன்ற) அத்தனையும் கொடுத்தாலும், அது அவர்களிடமிருந்து ஒப்புக்கொள்ளப் பட மாட்டாது இவர்கள் தாங்கள் செய்த செய்கைகளாலேயே தங்களை நாசமாக்கிக் கொண்டார்கள்;, இவர்கள் நிராகரித்துக் கொண்டிருந்த காரணத்தால் இவர்களுக்குக் கொதிக்கும் நீரும் துன்புறுத்தும் வேதனையும் உண்டு.
