(அல்லாஹ்விடம் தங்களை) நெருங்க வைக்கும் தெய்வங்களென்று அல்லாஹ் அல்லாதவற்றை இவர்கள் எடுத்துக் கொண்டார்களே, அவர்கள் ஏன் இவர்களுக்கு உதவி புரியவில்லை? ஆனால், அவர்கள் இவர்களை விட்டும் மறைந்து விட்டனர் - அவர்களே இவர்கள் பொய்யாகக் கூறியதையும், இட்டுக் கட்டியவையுமாகும்.

how many a prophet fought alongside him numerous godly people? they did not waver for what afflicted them in the cause of god, nor did they weaken, nor did they give in. god loves those who endure.

(o muhammad!) we know indeed that the things they say grieve you, though in truth it is not you whom they give the lie to, but it is the signs of allah that these wrong-doers reject.
(நபியே!) அவர்கள் (உம்மைப் பொய்யரெனக்) கூறுவது நிச்சயமாக உம்மைக் கவலையில் ஆழ்த்துகிறது என்பதை நாம் அறிவோம்; அவர்கள் உம்மைப் பொய்யாக்கவில்லை ஆனால் இந்த அநியாயக்காரர்கள் அல்லாஹ்வின் வசனங்களையல்லலவா மறுத்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள்.

fight those who do not believe in allah or in the last day and who do not consider unlawful what allah and his messenger have made unlawful and who do not adopt the religion of truth from those who were given the scripture - [fight] until they give the jizyah willingly while they are humbled.
வேதம் அருளப்பெற்றவர்களில் எவர்கள் அல்லாஹ்வின் மீதும், இறுதி நாளின் மீதும் ஈமான் கெள; ளாமலும், அல்லாஹ்வும், அவனுடைய தூதரும் ஹராம் ஆக்கியவற்றை ஹராம் எனக் கருதாமலும், உண்மை மார்க்கத்தை ஒப்புக் கொள்ளாமலும் இருக்கிறார்களோ. அவர்கள் (தம்) கையால் கீழ்ப்படிதலுடன் ஜிஸ்யா (என்னும் கப்பம்) கட்டும் வரையில் அவர்களுடன் போர் புரியுங்கள்.

so if they give the lie to thee (muhammad), say: your lord is a lord of all-embracing mercy, and his wrath will never be withdrawn from guilty folk.
நபியே!) இவர்கள் உம்மைப் பொய்ப்பிப்பார்களானால், "உங்களுடைய இறைவன் விசாலமான கருணையுடையவன்தான்; (எனினும்) குற்றம் செய்த கூட்டத்தாரைவிட்டு அவன் தண்டனை தடுக்கப்படமாட்டாது.

(o prophet), if they give the lie to you, then before them the people of 'ad and thamud, also gave the lie (to the prophets),
(நபியே!) இவர்கள் உம்மைப் பொய்யாக முற்பட்டால் (அதற்காக விசனப்படாதீர்; ஏனெனில்) நிச்சயமாக இவர்களுக்கு முன்னால் நூஹுடைய சமூகத்தினரும்; ஆது, ஸமூது (சமூகத்தினரும் தத்தம் நபிமார்களைப் பொய்ப்பிக்கவே முற்பட்டார்கள்.

and give the women [upon marriage] their [bridal] gifts graciously. but if they give up willingly to you anything of it, then take it in satisfaction and ease.
நீங்கள் (மணம் செய்து கொண்ட) பெண்களுக்கு அவர்களுடைய மஹர் (திருமணக்கொடை)களை மகிழ்வோடு (கொடையாக) கொடுத்துவிடுங்கள் - அதிலிருந்து ஏதேனும் ஒன்றை மனமொப்பி அவர்கள் உங்களுக்கு கொடுத்தால் அதைத் தாராளமாக, மகிழ்வுடன் புசியுங்கள்.
