now the birth of jesus christ was on this wise: when as his mother mary was espoused to joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the holy ghost.

thou knowest the commandments, do not commit adultery, do not kill, do not steal, do not bear false witness, defraud not, honour thy father and mother.
ⲚⲒⲈⲚⲦⲞⲖⲎ ⲔⲤⲰⲞⲨⲚ ⲘⲘⲰⲞⲨ ⲘⲠⲈⲢϦⲰⲦⲈⲂ ⲘⲠⲈⲢⲈⲢⲚⲰⲒⲔ ⲘⲠⲈⲢϬⲒⲞⲨⲒ ⲘⲠⲈⲢⲈⲢⲘⲈⲐⲢⲈ ⲚⲚⲞⲨϪ ⲘⲠⲈⲢϤⲰϪⲒ ⲀⲢⲒⲦⲒⲘⲀⲚ ⲘⲠⲈⲔⲒⲰⲦ ⲚⲈⲘ ⲦⲈⲔⲘⲀⲨ.

and a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;

and simeon blessed them, and said unto mary his mother, behold, this child is set for the fall and rising again of many in israel; and for a sign which shall be spoken against;
