touched by adversity , he is fretful .
ክፉ ነገር ባገኘው ጊዜ ብስጪተኛ ፡ ፡

surely we will ease his way unto adversity .
ለክፉይቱ ሥራ እናዘጋጀዋለን ፡ ፡

for him we shall ease the way of adversity ,
ለክፉይቱ ሥራ እናዘጋጀዋለን ፡ ፡

' lord ' they will reply , ' adversity prevailed over us and we were erring .
ይላሉ « ጌታችን ሆይ ! በእኛ ላይ መናጢነታችን አሸነፈችን ፡ ፡ ጠማማዎችም ሕዝቦች ነበርን ፡ ፡

who , in adversity say : ' we belong to allah and to him we shall return '
እነዚያን መከራ ፤ በነካቻቸው ጊዜ « እኛ ለአላህ ፤ ነን እኛም ወደርሱ ተመላሾች » ነን የሚሉትን ( አብስር ) ፡ ፡

and we sent no prophet unto any township but we did afflict its folk with tribulation and adversity that haply they might grow humble .
በከተማ አንድንም ነቢይ አልላክንም ሰዎችዋን ይዋደቁ ዘንድ በድህነትና በጉዳት የያዝናቸው ብንኾን እንጂ ፡ ፡

and never did we send any prophet to a dwelling but we seized its people with hardship and adversity so that they may become humble .
በከተማ አንድንም ነቢይ አልላክንም ሰዎችዋን ይዋደቁ ዘንድ በድህነትና በጉዳት የያዝናቸው ብንኾን እንጂ ፡ ፡

and whatever you have of favor - it is from allah . then when adversity touches you , to him you cry for help .
ማንኛውም በእናንተ ላይ ያለው ጸጋ ከአላህ ነው ፡ ፡ ከዚያም ችግር በደረሰባችሁ ጊዜ ወደርሱ ብቻ ትጮሃላችሁ ፡ ፡

we have sent already unto peoples that were before thee , and we visited them with tribulation and adversity , in order that they might grow humble .
ከበፊትህም ወደ ነበሩት ሕዝቦች ( መልክተኞችን ) በእርግጥ ላክን ፡ ፡ እንዲዋደቁም በድህነትና በበሽታ ያዝናቸው ፡ ፡

and assuredly we sent apostles unto communities before thee ; then we laid hold of them with adversity and distress , that haply they may humble themselves .
ከበፊትህም ወደ ነበሩት ሕዝቦች ( መልክተኞችን ) በእርግጥ ላክን ፡ ፡ እንዲዋደቁም በድህነትና በበሽታ ያዝናቸው ፡ ፡

when we provide comfort for the human being , he withdraws and distances himself ; but when adversity befalls him , he starts lengthy prayers .
በሰውም ላይ ጸጋችንን በለገስን ጊዜ ( ከማመስገን ) ይዞራል ፡ ፡ በጎኑም ይርቃል ፡ ፡ መከራም ባገኘው ጊዜ የብዙ ልመና ባለቤት ይኾናል ፡ ፡

and if allah should touch you with adversity , there is no remover of it except him . and if he touches you with good - then he is over all things competent .
አላህም በጉዳት ቢነካህ ለእርሱ ( ለጉዳቱ ) ከእርሱ በቀር ሌላ አስወጋጅ የለም ፡ ፡ በበጎም ነገር ቢነካህ እርሱ በነገሩ ሁሉ ላይ ቻይ ነው ፡ ፡

and if , after adversity , we let him taste good fortune he says , " all my ills are gone . " he becomes exultant and boastful .
ካገኘችውም ችግር በኋላ ጸጋዎችን ብናቀምሰው « ችግሮች ከኔ ላይ በእርግጥ ተወገዱ » ይላል ( አያመሰግንም ) ፡ ፡ እርሱ ተደሳች ጉረኛ ነውና ፡ ፡

and when adversity touches the people , they call upon their lord , turning in repentance to him . then when he lets them taste mercy from him , at once a party of them associate others with their lord ,
ሰዎችንም ችግር ባገኛቸው ጊዜ ጌታቸውን ወደርሱ ተመላሾች ሆነው ይጠሩታል ፡ ፡ ከዚያም ከእርሱ ችሮታን ባቀመሳቸው ጊዜ ከእነርሱ ከፊሎቹ ወዲያውኑ በጌታቸው ( ጣዖትን ) ያጋራሉ ፡ ፡

and if after adversity had come upon him , we let him taste prosperity , he says : ' evil has left me ' see , he is jubilant and boastful ,
ካገኘችውም ችግር በኋላ ጸጋዎችን ብናቀምሰው « ችግሮች ከኔ ላይ በእርግጥ ተወገዱ » ይላል ( አያመሰግንም ) ፡ ፡ እርሱ ተደሳች ጉረኛ ነውና ፡ ፡

and if allah should touch you with adversity , there is no remover of it except him ; and if he intends for you good , then there is no repeller of his bounty . he causes it to reach whom he wills of his servants .
አላህም ጉዳትን ቢያደርስብህ ከእርሱ ሌላ ለእርሱ ገላጭ የለውም ፡ ፡ በጎንም ነገር ቢሻልህ ለችሮታው መላሽ የለም ፡ ፡ ከባሮቹ የሚሻውን በእርሱ ይለይበታል ፡ ፡ እርሱም መሓሪ አዛኝ ነው ፡ ፡

" shall i take ( other ) gods besides him ? if ( allah ) most gracious should intend some adversity for me , of no use whatever will be their intercession for me , nor can they deliver me .
« ከእርሱ ሌላ አማልክትን እይዛለሁን ? አልረህማን በጉዳት ቢሻኝ ምልጃቸው ከእኔ ( ለመመለስ ) ምንም አትጠቅመኝም ፤ አያድኑኝምም ፡ ፡
