by the sun and its brightness
በፀሐይና በብርሃኗ እምላለሁ ፡ ፡

and its mixture is tasneem ,
መበረዣውም ከተስኒም ነው ፡ ፡

the night and its homing ;
በሌሊቱም በሰበሰውም ሁሉ ፤

and it throws out its burden ,
ምድር ሸክሞችዋን ባወጣችም ጊዜ ፤

and by the sun and its brightness ;
በፀሐይና በብርሃኗ እምላለሁ ፡ ፡

i swear by the sun and its brilliance ,
በፀሐይና በብርሃኗ እምላለሁ ፡ ፡

and inspired it with its sin and its piety ,
አመጽዋንና ፍርሃትዋንም ባሳወቃት ( አምላክ እምላለሁ ) ፡ ፡

and from it produced its water and its pasture .
ውሃዋንና ግጦሿን ከእርሷ አወጣ ፡ ፡

and brought out of it its water and its pasture ,
ውሃዋንና ግጦሿን ከእርሷ አወጣ ፡ ፡

and brought forth therefrom its water and its pasture ;
ውሃዋንና ግጦሿን ከእርሷ አወጣ ፡ ፡

after that bringing forth from it its water and its pasture land ,
ውሃዋንና ግጦሿን ከእርሷ አወጣ ፡ ፡

and its enlightenment as to its wrong and its right ; -
አመጽዋንና ፍርሃትዋንም ባሳወቃት ( አምላክ እምላለሁ ) ፡ ፡

and it is no joke .
እርሱም ቀልድ አይደለም ፡ ፡

and inspired it [ with discernment of ] its wickedness and its righteousness ,
አመጽዋንና ፍርሃትዋንም ባሳወቃት ( አምላክ እምላለሁ ) ፡ ፡

and it became as though reaped .
እንደ ሌሊት ጨለማም ኾና አነጋች ፤ ( ከሰለች ) ፡ ፡

and it is in the scriptures of the ancients .
እርሱም ( ቁርኣን ) በቀድሞዎቹ መጻሐፍት ውስጥ ( የተወሳ ነው ) ፡ ፡

and it is a guidance and mercy for the believers .
እርሱም ለምእምናን መምሪያና እዝነት ነው ፡ ፡

and it is he who feeds me and gives me drink .
« ያም እርሱ የሚያበላኝና የሚያጠጣኝ ነው ፡ ፡

and it behoves not the all-merciful to take a son .
ለአልረሕማን ልጅን መያዝ አይገባውም ፡ ፡

and it is only for us to deliver the manifest message . '
« በእኛ ላይም ግልጽ የኾነ ማድረስ እንጂ ሌላ የለብንም ፡ ፡ »
