" then verily , i should be in plain error .
« እኔ ያን ጊዜ በግልጽ ስህተት ውስጥ ነኝ ፡ ፡

certainly i thought that i should encounter my reckoning . '
« እኔ ምርመራየን የምገናኝ መኾኔን አረጋገጥኩ ፤ » ( ተዘጋጀሁም ይላል ) ፡ ፡

and who still greedily desires that i should bestow upon him more .
ከዚያም ልጨምርለት ይከጅላል ፡ ፡

and he said unto them, what would ye that i should do for you?
እርሱም። ምን ላደርግላችሁ ትወዳላችሁ? አላቸው።

he will send the heaven upon you copiously ;
« በእናንተ ላይ ዝናምን ተከታታይ አድርጎ ይልካል ፡ ፡

and but for the favourcf my lord , i should have been of those brought forward .
« የጌታየም ጸጋ ባልነበረ ኖሮ ወደ እሳት ከሚቀርቡት እሆን ነበር ፡ ፡ »

and that i should guide thee to thy lord , then thou shalt fear ? " '
« ወደ ጌታህም ልመራህ ትፈራውም ዘንድ ፤ ( መንገድ አለህን ? ) » አለው ፡ ፡

but for allah 's favour , i should be one of those who have been mustered here .
« የጌታየም ጸጋ ባልነበረ ኖሮ ወደ እሳት ከሚቀርቡት እሆን ነበር ፡ ፡ »

and none made me forget it except satan - that i should mention it . and it took its course into the sea amazingly " .
« አየህን ወደ ቋጥኝዋ በተጠጋን ጊዜ እኔ ዐሣውን ረሳሁ ፡ ፡ ማስታወሱንም ሰይጣን እንጂ ሌላ አላስረሳኝም ፡ ፡ በባሕሩም ውስጥ መንገዱን አስደናቂ ( መንገድ ) አድርጎ ያዘ » አለ ፡ ፡

and what aileth me that i should not worship him who hath created me , and unto whom ye shall be returned .
« ያንንም የፈጠረኝን ፤ ወደርሱም የምትመለሱበትን ( ጌታ ) የማልገዛ ለእኔ ምን አለኝ ? » ( አለ ) ፡ ፡

he said , " is it other than allah i should desire for you as a god while he has preferred you over the worlds ? "
« ከአላህ ሌላ እርሱ ከዓለማት ያበለጣችሁ ሲኾን ( የምትገዙት ) አምላክን እፈልግላችኋለሁን » አለ ፡ ፡

thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming i should have received mine own with usury.
ስለዚህ ገንዘቤን ለለዋጮች አደራ ልትሰጠው በተገባህ ነበር፥ እኔም መጥቼ ያለኝን ከትርፉ ጋር እወስደው ነበር።

and lest a person should say : “ if only allah had guided me , i should have been one of the god-fearing ; ”
ወይም « አላህ በመራኝ ኖሮ ከሚጠነቀቁት እኾን ነበር » ማለቷን ( ለመፍራት ) ፡ ፡
