དེ་སེམས་དད་པ་སྐྱེས་ནས་
with his mind filled with faith,

སྡང་སེམས།
acrimonious

སེམས་སྐྱོ་བ།
sadden

ལས་གང་གིས་སྐྱེས་པའོ། །
and what action has caused that rebirth.

དེ་ལ་ཐེ་ཙོམ་སྐྱེས་ཏེ།
which caused him some consternation:

ཁྱོད་པང་ནས་སྐྱེས་ཡིན་ནམ། །
“are you kolita?”

སེམས་ཅན་དམྱལ་བ་ཆེན་པོ་མནར་མེད་པར་སྐྱེས་པར་མཐོང་ནས་
when he began to search among the denizens of hell, he saw that his preceptor had been reborn among the denizens of avīci, the great hell of unrelenting torment.

ཁྱིམ་བདག་དེ་འགྱོད་པ་སྐྱེས་ནས་
the householder, meanwhile, was feeling regret:

དེ་ཉིད་ཆེན་པོར་སྐྱེས་པ་ན། །
yet when the tree is large,

དེས་སེམས་ཅན་དམྱལ་བ་ཆེན་པོ་མནར་མེད་པར་སྐྱེས་སྙམ་ནས་བསམས་ན།
what did he do that it should lead him to be reborn among the denizens of avīci?”

དེ་ནས་དེ་མི་བཟོད་པ་སྐྱེས་པས་བདག་གིས་
unable to bear it, he made a misguided

རྡོ་རྗེ་སེམས་དཔའ།
vajrasattva

དེས་ལས་ཅི་ཞིག་བྱས་ན་དེས་སེམས་ཅན་དམྱལ་བ་ཆེན་པོ་མནར་མེད་པར་སྐྱེས་སྙམ་ནས་
what did he do that it should lead him to be reborn among the denizens of avīci?”

ཁྱིམ་བདག་དེ་འགྱོད་པ་སྐྱེས་ནས་དེས་བསམས་པ།
meanwhile, the householder was feeling regret and thought,

དམག་དཔོན་འཕགས་སྐྱེས་པོས་དེ་དག་ཕྱོགས་བཞིར་བསྐོར་ནས་
general virūḍhaka had them surrounded and, once the bandits were hemmed in,

སྒོ་ཕྱུགས་སེམས་ཅན།
livestock

སེམས་སྐྱིད་ན་ལུས་བདེ་
inner happiness is source of healthy body

བྲམ་ཟེའི་ཁྱེའུ་འདིའི་མིང་པང་ནས་སྐྱེས་སུ་གདགས་སོ་སྙམ་ནས་
they thought the young brahmin should be named kolita (born from the lap),

དེ་དགེ་བའི་སེམས་ཀྱིས་དུས་བྱས་ནས་རྒྱལ་ཆེན་བཞིའི་རིས་ཀྱི་ལྷ་རྣམས་ཀྱི་ནང་དུ་སྐྱེས་སོ། །
this virtuous thought brought the monk patricide’s time in hell to an end and he was reborn among the gods in the realms of the four great kings.

སྐྱེས་བུའི་རྩལ་མེད་དོ། །ཕ་རོལ་གནོན་པ་མེད་དོ། །
it is not due to a person’s skill. it is not due to his overpowering ability.
