የሻለቃውም ቀርቦ። አንተ ሮማዊ ነህን? ንገረኝ አለው፤ እርሱም። አዎን አለ።
then the chief captain came, and said unto him, tell me, art thou a roman? he said, yea.

የሻለቃውም እጁን ይዞ ፈቀቅ አለና ለብቻው ሆኖ። የምታወራልኝ ነገር ምንድር ነው? ብሎ ጠየቀው።

የሻለቃውም። ይህን ነገር ለእኔ ማመልከትህን ለማንም እንዳትገልጥ ብሎ ካዘዘ በኋላ ብላቴናውን አሰናበተው።
so the chief captain then let the young man depart, and charged him, see thou tell no man that thou hast shewed these things to me.

የሻለቃውም መልሶ። እኔ ይህን ዜግነት በብዙ ገንዘብ አገኘሁት አለ። ጳውሎስም። እኔ ግን በእርስዋ ተወለድሁ አለ።
and the chief captain answered, with a great sum obtained i this freedom. and paul said, but i was free born.
