obstructing virtues, a sinful transgressor,
mwenye kuzuia kheri, dhaalimu, mwingi wa madhambi,

and inspired it with [discernment between] its virtues and vices:
kisha akaifahamisha uovu wake na wema wake,

then these! for them allah shall change their vices into virtues.
basi hao mwenyezi mungu atayabadilisha maovu yao yawe mema.

for every one is a direction witherward he turnoth; so strive to be foremost in virtues.
na kila mmoja anao upande anao elekea. basi shindanieni mema.

and establish thou the prayer at the two ends of the day, and in the neighbouring watches of the night verily virtues take away vices.
na shika sala katika ncha mbili za mchana na nyakati za usiku zilizo karibu na mchana. hakika mema huondoa maovu.

hasten wherefore to the virtues; unto allah is the return of you all; then he shall declare unto you concerning that wherein ye have been disputing.
