በእነርሱ ላይ ከጭቃ የኾኑን ድንጋዮች ልንለቅባቸው ( ተላክን ) ፡ ፡
" to bring on , on them , ( a shower of ) stones of clay ( brimstone ) ,

ፈታኝም ቀርቦ። የእግዚአብሔር ልጅ ከሆንህ፥ እነዚህ ድንጋዮች እንጀራ እንዲሆኑ በል አለው።
and when the tempter came to him, he said, if thou be the son of god, command that these stones be made bread.

( ይህንን ) ባትሠሩ ፈጽሞም አትሠሩትምና ያችን መቀጣጠያዋ ሰዎችና ድንጋዮች የኾነችውን እሳት ተጠበቁ ፤ ለከሓዲዎች ተደግሳለች ፡ ፡
and if ye do it not - and ye can never do it - then guard yourselves against the fire prepared for disbelievers , whose fuel is of men and stones .

በልባችሁም። አብርሃም አባት አለን እንደምትሉ አይምሰላችሁ፤ እላችኋለሁና። ከነዚህ ድንጋዮች ለአብርሃም ልጆች ሊያስነሣለት እግዚአብሔር ይችላል።
and think not to say within yourselves, we have abraham to our father: for i say unto you, that god is able of these stones to raise up children unto abraham.

እንግዲህ ለንስሐ የሚገባ ፍሬ አድርጉ፤ በልባችሁም። አብርሃም አባት አለን ማለትን አትጀምሩ፤ ከእነዚህ ድንጋዮች ለአብርሃም ልጆች ሊያስነሣለት እግዚአብሔር እንዲችል እላችኋለሁና።
bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say within yourselves, we have abraham to our father: for i say unto you, that god is able of these stones to raise up children unto abraham.

ከዚያም ከዚህ በኋላ ልቦቻችሁ ደረቁ ፤ እርሷም እንደ ድንጋዮች ወይም በድርቅና ይበልጥ የበረታች ናት ፡ ፡ ከድንጋዮችም ከርሱ ጂረቶች የሚፈሱለት አልለ ፡ ፡ ከነርሱም በእርግጥ የሚሰነጠቅና ከርሱ ውሃ ( ምንጭ ) የሚወጣው አልለ ፡ ፡ ከነርሱም አላህን ከመፍራት የተነሳ ወደ ታች የሚወርድ አልለ ፡ ፡ አላህም ከምትሠሩት ነገር ዘንጊ አይደለም ፡ ፡
but even after seeing these signs your hearts hardened and became as hard as rocks ; nay , even harder than rocks . for there are some rocks out of which springs gush forth , and others which split open , and water issues out of them ; then there are some which tumble down for fear of allah .
