Ջուրը հարիւր յիսուն օր ողողեց երկիրը:
and the waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred and fifty days.

Ի սկզբանէ Աստուած ստեղծեց երկինքն ու երկիրը:
in the beginning god created the heaven and the earth.

Աջ ձեռքդ մեկնեցիր, եւ երկիրը կուլ տուեց նրանց:
thou stretchedst out thy right hand, the earth swallowed them.

Երկիրը առատութեան եօթը տարիների ընթացքում հարուստ բերք տուեց:
and in the seven plenteous years the earth brought forth by handfuls.

Դրանք հաւաքեցին կոյտ-կոյտ, եւ երկիրը լցուեց գարշահոտութեամբ:
and they gathered them together upon heaps: and the land stank.

Այն ժամանակ ողջ երկիրը մէկ լեզուով, մէկ բարբառով էր խօսում:
and the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.

- Երանի՜ հեզերին, որովհետեւ նրանք երկիրը պիտի ժառանգեն:
blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

Երկինքը եւ երկիրը կ՚անցնեն, բայց իմ խօսքերը չեն անցնի»:
heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

Երբ կէսօր եղաւ, խաւար պատեց ամբողջ երկիրը, մինչեւ ժամը երեքը:
and when the sixth hour was come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour.

Յովսէփն ասաց նրանց. «Ո՛չ, դուք եկել էք երկիրը հետախուզելու»:
and he said unto them, nay, but to see the nakedness of the land ye are come.

Աբրամն ասաց սոդոմացիների արքային. «Երդւում եմ երկինքն ու երկիրը ստեղծած բարձրեալ Աստուծով,
and abram said to the king of sodom, i have lift up mine hand unto the lord, the most high god, the possessor of heaven and earth,

Այս է երկնքի ու երկրի արարչութեան պատմութիւնը: Այն օրը, երբ Աստուած ստեղծեց երկինքն ու երկիրը,
these are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the lord god made the earth and the heavens,

Երկրի պարէնը թող պահուի Եգիպտացիների երկրի վրայ տարածուելիք սովի եօթը տարիների համար, որպէսզի երկիրը սովից չկոտորուի»:
and that food shall be for store to the land against the seven years of famine, which shall be in the land of egypt; that the land perish not through the famine.

Յովսէփը յիշեց իր տեսած երազները եւ ասաց նրանց. «Դուք լրտեսներ էք եւ եկել էք երկիրը հետախուզելու»:
and joseph remembered the dreams which he dreamed of them, and said unto them, ye are spies; to see the nakedness of the land ye are come.

«Երբ քո Տէր Աստուածը քեզ կը տանի Քանանացիների երկիրը, ինչպէս խոստացել է քեզ ու քո հայրերին, եւ այն կը տայ քեզ,
and it shall be when the lord shall bring thee into the land of the canaanites, as he sware unto thee and to thy fathers, and shall give it thee,

Սովը կը սպառի երկիրը, եւ մարդիկ չեն իմանայ բերքի առատութիւնը դրան յաջորդող սովի պատճառով, քանի որ սովը շատ սաստիկ է լինելու:
and the plenty shall not be known in the land by reason of that famine following; for it shall be very grievous.

Իսկ դուք աճեցէ՛ք, բազմացէ՛ք, լցրէ՛ք երկիրը եւ բազմացէ՛ք դրա վրայ»:
and you, be ye fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply therein.
