and we are not to be punished . "
« እኛም የምንቅቀጣ አይደለንም » ( አሉ ) ፡ ፡

wherefore then , if ye are not to be requited
የማትዳኙም ከኾናችሁ ፡ ፡

then why do you not , if you are not to be recompensed ,
የማትዳኙም ከኾናችሁ ፡ ፡

why are you not picking calls
ይቅርታ ስላልደወልኩ

and say to him : ' are you willing to be purified ,
በለውም ፡ - « ወደ መጥራራትህ ላንተ ( መንገድ ) አለህን ? »

save our first death , and are we not to be tormented ?
« የመጀመሪያይቱ መሞታችን ብቻ ስትቀር ፡ ፡ እኛም የምንቅቀጣ አይደለንምን ? » ( ይላሉ ) ፡ ፡

and is not to be taken lightly .
እርሱም ቀልድ አይደለም ፡ ፡

we have decreed death among you , and we are not to be outdone
እኛ ሞትን ( ጊዜውን ) በመካከላችሁ ወሰንን ፡ ፡ እኛም ተሸናፊዎች አይደለንም ፡ ፡

to replace them with better than they , and we are not to be outdone .
ከእነርሱ የተሻለን በመለወጥ ላይ ፡ ፡ እኛም ተሸናፊዎች አይደለንም ፡ ፡

so leave them , [ o muhammad ] , for you are not to be blamed .
ከእነርሱም ( ክርክር ) ዘወር በል ፤ ( ተዋቸው ) ፡ ፡ አንተ ምንም ተወቃሽ አይደለህምና ፡ ፡

we ! it is we who have decreed death unto you all . and we are not to be outrun .
እኛ ሞትን ( ጊዜውን ) በመካከላችሁ ወሰንን ፡ ፡ እኛም ተሸናፊዎች አይደለንም ፡ ፡

though you are not to be blamed if he would not purify himself --
ባይጥራራ ( ባያምን ) ባንተ ላይ ምንም የሌለብህ ስትኾን ፡ ፡

implore not to-day ; verily ye from us are not to be succoured .
ዛሬ አትወትውቱ ፤ እናንተ ከእኛ ዘንድ አትረዱም ፡ ፡

except from their wives and slave girls , in which case they are not to be blamed ,
በሚስቶቻቸው ወይም እጆቻቸው በያዙዋቸው ( ባሪያዎች ) ላይ ሲቀር ፡ ፡ እነርሱ ( በእነዚህ ) የማይወቀሱ ናቸውና ፡ ፡

deem ye that we have created youl in vain and that unto us ye are not to be returned ?
« የፈጠርናችሁ ለከንቱ መኾኑን እናንተም ወደኛ የማትመለሱ መኾናችሁን ጠረጠራችሁን » ( ለከንቱ የፈጠርናችሁ መሰላችሁን )

to replace them with [ others ] better than them and we are not to be outmaneuvered .
ከእነርሱ የተሻለን በመለወጥ ላይ ፡ ፡ እኛም ተሸናፊዎች አይደለንም ፡ ፡

" are you not those to whom my revelations were recited , and you dubbed them as lies ? "
« አንቀጾቼ በእናንተ ላይ የሚነበቡላችሁና በእነርሱ የምታስተባብሉ አልነበራችሁምን » ( ይባላሉ ) ፡ ፡

and this ceased not to be their cry till we made them cut off , extinct .
የታጨዱ ሬሳዎችም እስካደረግናቸው ድረስ ይህቺ ጠሪያቸው ከመኾን አልተወገደችም ፡ ፡

he is not to be questioned about what he does , but they shall be questioned .
ከሚሠራው ሁሉ አይጠየቅም ፡ ፡ እነርሱ ( ፍጥረቶቹ ) ግን ይጠየቃሉ ፡ ፡
