ከምን ነገር ይጠያየቃሉ ?

saving our former death , and are we not to be punished ?
« የመጀመሪያይቱ መሞታችን ብቻ ስትቀር ፡ ፡ እኛም የምንቅቀጣ አይደለንምን ? » ( ይላሉ ) ፡ ፡

and said , “ are we to abandon our gods for a mad poet ? ”
እኛ ለዕብድ ባለቅኔ ብለን አማልክቶቻችንን የምንተው ነን ? ይሉም ነበር ፡ ፡

so what are you doing for a living

and we determined [ it ] , and excellent [ are we ] to determine .
መጣኞች ነን !

about what are they asking one another ?
ከምን ነገር ይጠያየቃሉ ?

do ye create it or are we the creator ?
እናንተ ትፈጥሩታላችሁን ? ወይስ እኛ ፈጣሪዎቹን ነን ?

cause it ye to grow , or are we the grower ?
እናንተ ታበቅሉታላችሁን ? ወይስ እኛ አብቃዮቹ ነን ?

and the people of the left hand — what are the people of the left hand ? !
የግራ ጓደኞችም ምንኛ ( የተዋረዱ ) የግራ ጓዶች ! ናቸው ፡ ፡

and the people of the left hand — and what are the people of the left hand ? !
የግራ ጓዶችም ምን ( የተዋረዱ ) የግራ ጓዶች ናቸው ፡ ፡

and the people of the right hand — what are the people of the right hand ? !
የቀኝም ጓዶች ምንኛ ( የከበሩ ) የቀኝ ጓዶች !

and the earth ! we have stretched it forth beneath ; an excellent spreader are we !
ምድርንም ዘረጋናት ፡ ፡ ምን ያማርንም ዘርጊዎች ( ነን ! )

they will say , ‘ are we being returned to our earlier state ?
« እኛ ወደ መጀመሪያይቱ ኹነታ ተመላሾች ነን ? » ይላሉ ፡ ፡

do we provoke the lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?
ወይስ ጌታን እናስቀናውን? እኛስ ከእርሱ ይልቅ እንበረታለንን?
