« የወሰን አላፊዎችንም ትዕዛዝ አትከተሉ ፡ ፡

but i speak this by permission, and not of commandment.
ዳሩ ግን ይህን እንደ ፈቃድ እላለሁ እንጂ እንደ ትእዛዝ አይደለም።

master, which is the great commandment in the law?
መምህር ሆይ፥ ከሕግ ማናቸይቱ ትእዛዝ ታላቅ ናት? ብሎ ጠየቀው።

and our commandment is but one , as the twinkling of an eye .
ትእዛዛችንም እንደ ዓይን ቅጽበት አንዲት ( ቃል ) እንጅ ሌላ አይደለም ፡ ፡

and our commandment shall be but one , as the twinkling of an eye .
ትእዛዛችንም እንደ ዓይን ቅጽበት አንዲት ( ቃል ) እንጅ ሌላ አይደለም ፡ ፡

and this commandment have we from him, that he who loveth god love his brother also.
እግዚአብሔርንም የሚወድ ወንድሙን ደግሞ እንዲወድ ይህች ትእዛዝ ከእርሱ አለችን።

and our commandment is but one ( commandment ) , as the twinkling of an eye .
ትእዛዛችንም እንደ ዓይን ቅጽበት አንዲት ( ቃል ) እንጅ ሌላ አይደለም ፡ ፡

this is in fact a commandment from your lord ; so you should not have any doubt concerning this .
( ይህ ) ከጌታህ የኾነ እውነት ነው ፤ ከተጠራጣሪዎቹም አትሁን ፡ ፡

and we decreed unto him this commandment because the last of those was to be cut off in the early morning .
ወደርሱም ያንን ትእዛዝ አወረድን ፡ ፡ ( እርሱም ) የእነዚህ ( ሕዝቦች ) መጨረሻ ያነጉ ሲኾኑ ( ሥራቸው ) መቆረጥ ነው ፡ ፡

and we decreed for him that commandment , that the last remnant of those should be cut off in the morning .
ወደርሱም ያንን ትእዛዝ አወረድን ፡ ፡ ( እርሱም ) የእነዚህ ( ሕዝቦች ) መጨረሻ ያነጉ ሲኾኑ ( ሥራቸው ) መቆረጥ ነው ፡ ፡

and you were not on the western side when we revealed to musa the commandment , and you were not among the witnesses ;
ወደ ሙሳም ትዕዛዝን ባወረድንለት ጊዜ ( ከተራራው ) በምዕራባዊው ጎን አልነበርክም ከተጣዱትም አልነበርክም ፡ ፡

and certainly we gave a commandment to adam before , but he forgot ; and we did not find in him any determination .
ወደ አደምም ከዚህ በፊት ኪዳንን በእርግጥ አወረድን ፡ ፡ ረሳም ፡ ፡ ለእርሱም ቆራጥነትን አላገኘንለትም ፡ ፡

now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:
የትእዛዝ ፍጻሜ ግን ከንጹሕ ልብና ከበጎ ሕሊና ግብዝነትም ከሌለበት እምነት የሚወጣ ፍቅር ነው፤

and the second is like, namely this, thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. there is none other commandment greater than these.
ሁለተኛይቱም። ባልንጀራህን እንደ ራስህ ውደድ የምትል እርስዋን የምትመስል ይህች ናት። ከእነዚህ የምትበልጥ ሌላ ትእዛዝ የለችም።

so when our commandment came to pass we overthrew ( that township ) and rained upon it stones of clay , one after another ,

indeed , the commandment of your lord has gone forth . verily , there will come a torment for them which cannot be turned back . "
« ኢብራሂም ሆይ ! ከዚህ ( ክርክር ) ተው ፡ ፡ እነሆ የጌታህ ትዕዛዝ በእርግጥ መጥቷል ፡ ፡ እነሱም የማይመለስ ቅጣት የሚመጣባቸው ናቸው » ( አሉት ) ፡ ፡

they said : wonderest thou at the commandment of allah ? the mercy of allah and his blessings be upon you , o people of the house !
« ከአላህ ትዕዛዝ ትደነቂያለሽን የአላህ ችሮታና በረከቶቹ በእናንተ በኢብራሂም ቤተሰቦች ላይ ይሁን እርሱ ምስጉን ለጋስ ነውና » አሉ ፡ ፡

unto firawn and his chiefs . but they followed the commandment of fir 'awn , and the commandment of fir 'awn was not right- minded .
ወደ ፈርዖንና ወደ ሰዎቹ ( ላክነው ) ፡ ፡ የፈርዖንንም ነገር ( ሕዝቦቹ ) ተከተሉ ፡ ፡ የፈርዖን ነገርም ቀጥተኛ አልነበረም ፡ ፡

forsake this ! lo ! thy lord 's commandment hath gone forth , and lo ! there cometh unto them a doom which cannot be repelled .
« ኢብራሂም ሆይ ! ከዚህ ( ክርክር ) ተው ፡ ፡ እነሆ የጌታህ ትዕዛዝ በእርግጥ መጥቷል ፡ ፡ እነሱም የማይመለስ ቅጣት የሚመጣባቸው ናቸው » ( አሉት ) ፡ ፡

( o muhammad ) , you were then not on the western side when we bestowed this commandment ( of law ) , and you were not among its witnesses .
