አንተም በርሷ ውስጥ አትጠማም ፤ ፀሐይም አትተኮስም ፡ ፡

ሰቀር ምን እንደኾነች ምን አሳወቀህ ?

ሰባሪይቱም ምን እንደ ኾነች ምን አሳወቀህ ?

and did he not find you in need and make you rich ?
ድኻም ኾነህ አገኘህ ፤ አከበረህም ፡ ፡

and what can make you know what is the night of decree ?
መወሰኛይቱም ሌሊተ ምን እንደ ኾነች ምን አሳወቀህ ?

again , what will make you know what the day of recompense is ?
ከዚያም የፍርዱ ቀን ምን እንደኾነ ምን አሳወቀህ ?

and he saith unto them, follow me, and i will make you fishers of men
አይስክሬም እሠራለሁ

again : what will make you realize what the day of judgement will be ?
ከዚያም የፍርዱ ቀን ምን እንደኾነ ምን አሳወቀህ ?

do you feel secure that he who [ holds authority ] in the heaven would not cause the earth to swallow you and suddenly it would sway ?
በሰማይ ውስጥ ያለን ( ሰራዊት ) በእናንተ ምድርን ቢደረባባችሁ ወዲያውም እርሷ የምታረገርግ ብትኾን ትተማመናላችሁን ? ( አትፈሩምን ? )

but what would make you perceive , [ o muhammad ] , that perhaps he might be purified
ምን ያሳውቅሃል ? ( ከኀጢአቶቹ ) ሊጥራራ ይከጀላል ፡ ፡

and what will make you know what the night of al-qadr ( decree ) is ?
መወሰኛይቱም ሌሊተ ምን እንደ ኾነች ምን አሳወቀህ ?

[ o prophet ! ] we shall make you recite the quran so that you will not forget any of it --
( ቁርኣንን ) በእርግጥ እናስነብብሃለን ፤ አትረሳምም ፡ ፡
