( በኀጢኣት ) የሸፈናትም ሰው በእውነት አፈረ ፡ ፡

what thinkest thou ? if he were upon guidance
አየህን ? ንገረኝ ( ተከልካዩ ) በትክክለኛ መንገድ ላይ ቢኾን ፤

what is your opinion – if he were upon guidance ,
አየህን ? ንገረኝ ( ተከልካዩ ) በትክክለኛ መንገድ ላይ ቢኾን ፤

if he is among the near
( ሟቹ ) ከባለሟሎቹ ቢኾንማ ፡ ፡

did you consider : what if he is on the right way ,
አየህን ? ንገረኝ ( ተከልካዩ ) በትክክለኛ መንገድ ላይ ቢኾን ፤

have you seen if he is upon guidance
አየህን ? ንገረኝ ( ተከልካዩ ) በትክክለኛ መንገድ ላይ ቢኾን ፤

what thinkest thou ? if he cries lies , and turns away -
አየህን ? ንገረኝ ( ከልካዩ ) ቢያስተባብልና ( ከእምነት ) ቢሸሽ ፤

if he is a companion of the right
ከቀኝ ጓዶችም ቢኾንማ ፡ ፡

if he had invented any lies about us ,
በእኛ ላይም ከፊልን ቃላት ( ያላልነውን ) በቀጠፈ ኖሮ ፤

bethinkest thou , if he is himself guided ,
አየህን ? ንገረኝ ( ተከልካዩ ) በትክክለኛ መንገድ ላይ ቢኾን ፤

but if he is one of those brought near .
( ሟቹ ) ከባለሟሎቹ ቢኾንማ ፡ ፡

and if he be a companion of the right :
ከቀኝ ጓዶችም ቢኾንማ ፡ ፡

and if he is of those on the right , –
ከቀኝ ጓዶችም ቢኾንማ ፡ ፡

and if he be of the companions of the right hand ,
ከቀኝ ጓዶችም ቢኾንማ ፡ ፡

and if he had fabricated against us some of the sayings ,
በእኛ ላይም ከፊልን ቃላት ( ያላልነውን ) በቀጠፈ ኖሮ ፤

and no blame is on you if he would not purify himself
ባይጥራራ ( ባያምን ) ባንተ ላይ ምንም የሌለብህ ስትኾን ፡ ፡

but , if he is of those who belied , and went astray ,
ከሚያስዋሹት ጠማማዎችም ቢኾንማ ፡ ፡

hast thou seen if he relieth on the guidance ( of allah )
አየህን ? ንገረኝ ( ተከልካዩ ) በትክክለኛ መንገድ ላይ ቢኾን ፤

seest thou if he denies ( truth ) and turns away ?
አየህን ? ንገረኝ ( ከልካዩ ) ቢያስተባብልና ( ከእምነት ) ቢሸሽ ፤

nay ! if he desist not , we would certainly smite his forehead ,
ይተው ባይከለከል አናቱን ይዘን እንጎትተዋለን ፡ ፡
