instead they say : " when is this promise going to be , if you speak the truth ? "
« እውነተኞችም እንደ ሆናችሁ ይህ ቀጠሮ መቼ ነው ? » ይላሉ ፡ ፡

he asks , " when is this day of resurrection to be ? "
« የትንሣኤው ቀን መቼ ነው ? » ሲል ይጠይቃል ፡ ፡

and when they went back to their families , they went back jesting ,
ወደ ቤተሰቦቻቸውም በተመለሱ ጊዜ ( በመሳለቃቸው ) ተደሳቾች ኾነው ይመለሱ ነበር ፡ ፡

for they had denied the truth when it came to them , but there is going to reach them the news of what they used to ridicule .
በእውነቱም ( ቁርኣን ) በመጣላቸው ጊዜ በእርግጥ አስተባበሉ ፡ ፡ በእርሱም ይሳለቁበት የነበሩት ነገር ዜናዎች ( ቅጣት ) በእርግጥ ይመጣባቸዋል ፡ ፡

and when they went back to their families , they would go back exulting .
ወደ ቤተሰቦቻቸውም በተመለሱ ጊዜ ( በመሳለቃቸው ) ተደሳቾች ኾነው ይመለሱ ነበር ፡ ፡

he asks : when is the day of resurrection ?
« የትንሣኤው ቀን መቼ ነው ? » ሲል ይጠይቃል ፡ ፡

and he shall go back to his people joyful .
ወደ ቤተሰቦቹም ተደሳች ኾኖ ይመለሳል ፡ ፡

nor i imagine that the hour is going to happen ; and if am brought back to my lord , surely i will find something better than this as a retreat .
« ሰዓቲቱንም ቋሚ ( ኋኝ ) ናት ብዬ አልጠረጥርም ፡ ፡ ( እንደምትለው ) ወደ ጌታዬም ብመለስ ከእርሷ የበለጠን መመለሻ በእርግጥ አገኛለሁ » ( አለው ) ፡ ፡

and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness ,
ከዚያም ( ለማጥፋት ) የሚተጋ ኾኖ ዞረ ፡ ፡

and they say : when is this promise ( to be fulfilled ) if ye are truthful ?
« እውነተኞችም እንደ ሆናችሁ ይህ ቀጠሮ መቼ ነው ? » ይላሉ ፡ ፡

bring back to life our fathers if what you say is true " .
እውነተኞችም እንደ ኾናችሁ አባቶቻችንን አምጡልን ፡ ፡

" what ! when we have died and become dust and bones , will we be brought back to life again ,
« በሞትንና ዐፈርና አጥንቶችም በኾን ጊዜ እኛ የምንቀሰቀስ ነን ?
