and recall what time ye were running off and would not look back on any one , albeit the apostle in your rear was calling unto you . wherefore he caused sorrow to overtake you for sorrow . that ye might not grieve for that which ye might lose nor for that which might befall you . and allah is aware of that which ye work .
जब तुम लोग दूर भागे चले जा रहे थे और किसी को मुड़कर देखते तक न थे और रसूल तुम्हें पुकार रहा था , जबकि वह तुम्हारी दूसरी टुकड़ी के साथ था , तो अल्लाह ने तुम्हें शोक पर शोक दिया , ताकि तुम्हारे हाथ से कोई चीज़ निकल जाए या तुमपर कोई मुसीबत आए तो तुम शोकाकुल न हो । और जो कुछ भी तुम करते हो , अल्लाह उसकी भली - भाँति ख़बर रखता है

and if you be in doubt whether the book we have sent down to our servant is from us or not , then produce , at least , one surah like this . you may call all your associates to assist you and avail yourselves of the help of any one other than allah . if you are genuine in your doubt , do this .
और अगर तुम लोग इस कलाम से जो हमने अपने बन्दे पर नाज़िल किया है शक में पड़े हो पस अगर तुम सच्चे हो तो तुम एक सूरा बना लाओ और खुदा के सिवा जो भी तुम्हारे मददगार हों उनको भी बुला लो

behold ! ye were climbing up the high ground , without even casting a side glance at any one , and the messenger in your rear was calling you back . there did allah give you one distress after another by way of requital , to teach you not to grieve for that had escaped you and for that had befallen you . for allah is well aware of all that ye do .
