certamente avrebbe gustato, se l’avesse conosciuta, questa preghiera di bossuet 2 : «gran dio... non lasciare giammai che alcuni spiriti, di cui alcuni si annoverano tra i dotti, altri tra gli spirituali, possano essere accusati al tuo terribile tribunale di aver contribuito in qualche modo a chiuderti l’accesso in non so quanti cuori, perché tu volevi entrarvi in un modo la cui sola semplicità li urtava, e attraverso una porta la quale, benché aperta dai santi fin dai primi secoli della chiesa, non era, forse, ancora abbastanza loro nota; piuttosto fa’ in modo che, diventando tutti piccoli come fanciulli , come gesù cristo comanda, noi possiamo entrare una buona volta per questa piccola porta, per poterla poi mostrare agli altri con più sicurezza e con più efficacia.
