ފަހެ، ثمود ބާގައިމީހުން ދަންނާށެވެ! ފަހެ، ބިރުވެރި، ގަދަފަދަ އަޑުން އެއުރެން ހަލާކު ކުރެއްވިއެވެ.

the thamud were destroyed by a terrible storm of thunder and lightning;
ފަހެ، ثمود ބާގައިމީހުން ދަންނާށެވެ! ފަހެ، ބިރުވެރި، ގަދަފަދަ އަޑުން އެއުރެން ހަލާކު ކުރެއްވިއެވެ.

it is he who makes the lightning flash for fear and hope, and raises massive clouds.
އެކަލާނގެއީ، ތިޔަބައިމީހުންނަށް ބިރުވެރިކަމާއި، اميد ލިބެނިވިގޮތުގައި ވިދުވަރު ދައްކަވާ އަދި (ފެނުން) ބަރުވެފައިވާ ވިލާ އުފައްދަވާ ރަސްކަލާނގެއެވެ.

but they defied the command of their lord, so the lightning struck them as they looked on.
ފަހެ، އެއުރެންގެ ވެރިރަސްކަލާނގެ أمر ފުޅާ خلاف ވެ، އެއުރެން كبر ވެރިވޫއެވެ. ދެން އެއުރެން ބަލަބަލައި ތިއްބައި ހޮނުގުގުރި އެއުރެންގައި ހިފިއެވެ.

but the thamud,- they were destroyed by a terrible storm of thunder and lightning!
ފަހެ، ثمود ބާގައިމީހުން ދަންނާށެވެ! ފަހެ، ބިރުވެރި، ގަދަފަދަ އަޑުން އެއުރެން ހަލާކު ކުރެއްވިއެވެ.

he it is who sheweth the lightning unto you for fear and for desire, and bringeth up the clouds heavy.
އެކަލާނގެއީ، ތިޔަބައިމީހުންނަށް ބިރުވެރިކަމާއި، اميد ލިބެނިވިގޮތުގައި ވިދުވަރު ދައްކަވާ އަދި (ފެނުން) ބަރުވެފައިވާ ވިލާ އުފައްދަވާ ރަސްކަލާނގެއެވެ.

it is god who flashes lightning to frighten you and to give you hope. it is he who forms the heavy clouds.
އެކަލާނގެއީ، ތިޔަބައިމީހުންނަށް ބިރުވެރިކަމާއި، اميد ލިބެނިވިގޮތުގައި ވިދުވަރު ދައްކަވާ އަދި (ފެނުން) ބަރުވެފައިވާ ވިލާ އުފައްދަވާ ރަސްކަލާނގެއެވެ.

he it is who causes you to see lightning that inspires you with both fear and hope, and he it is who whips up heavy clouds.
އެކަލާނގެއީ، ތިޔަބައިމީހުންނަށް ބިރުވެރިކަމާއި، اميد ލިބެނިވިގޮތުގައި ވިދުވަރު ދައްކަވާ އަދި (ފެނުން) ބަރުވެފައިވާ ވިލާ އުފައްދަވާ ރަސްކަލާނގެއެވެ.

and of his signs is that he shows you the lightning for fear and hope. he sends down water from the sky and with it he revives the earth after its death.
އަދި ތިޔަބައިމީހުންނަށް ބިރުދެއްކެވުމުގެ ގޮތުންނާއި (ވާރެއާމެދު) އެދުންވެރި ކުރެއްވުމުގެ ގޮތުން، ވިދުވަރު ތިޔަބައިމީހުންނަށް ދެއްކެވުމާއި، ބިންގަނޑު މަރުވުމަށްފަހު އުޑުން ފެން ވެއްސަވައި، އެ ފެނުގެ ސަބަބުން އެ ބިން އަލުން ދިރުއްވާކަން ވަނީ، އެކަލާނގެ ކުޅަދުންވަންތަކަމުގެ ހެކިތަކުގެ ތެރެއިންނެވެ. ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، ވިސްނާބަޔަކަށް އެކަމުގައި ހެކިތަކެއްވާކަން ކަށަވަރެވެ.

or like rain pouring from the sky which hides within it darkness, thunder and lightning. they thrust their fingers into their ears for safety against noise and death.
ނުވަތަ އެއުރެންގެ މިސާލަކީ، އެ ވިލާގަނޑެއްގައި އަނދިރިތަކަކާއި ގުގުރުމާއި ވިދުން (އެކުލެވިފައި) ވާގޮތުގައި އުޑުމަތީގައިވާ ވާރޭވިލާގަނޑެއްގެ މިސާލެވެ. ހޮނުގެ ސަބަބުން މަރުވެދާނެކަމަށް ބިރުން، އެއުރެންގެ ކަންފަތްތަކުގައި އެއުރެންގެ އިނގިލިތައް އަޅަތެވެ. اللَّه އީ، އެ كافر ންގެ ހުރިހައި ކަމެއް ފުރިހަމައަށް ދެނެވޮޑިގެންވާ ރަސްކަލާނގެއެވެ.

އަދި ތިޔަބައިމީހުންނަށް ބިރުދެއްކެވުމުގެ ގޮތުންނާއި (ވާރެއާމެދު) އެދުންވެރި ކުރެއްވުމުގެ ގޮތުން، ވިދުވަރު ތިޔަބައިމީހުންނަށް ދެއްކެވުމާއި، ބިންގަނޑު މަރުވުމަށްފަހު އުޑުން ފެން ވެއްސަވައި، އެ ފެނުގެ ސަބަބުން އެ ބިން އަލުން ދިރުއްވާކަން ވަނީ، އެކަލާނގެ ކުޅަދުންވަންތަކަމުގެ ހެކިތަކުގެ ތެރެއިންނެވެ. ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، ވިސްނާބަޔަކަށް އެކަމުގައި ހެކިތަކެއްވާކަން ކަށަވަރެވެ.

and when ye said: o moses! we will not believe in thee till we see allah plainly; and even while ye gazed the lightning seized you.
އަދި އޭ موسى ގެފާނެވެ! ފާޅުގައި އަހަރެމެން اللَّه ދެކެފުމަށްދާނދެން އަހަރެމެން ކަލޭގެފާނަކަށް إيمان އެއް ނުވާނޫއޭ ތިޔަބައިމީހުން ދެންނެވިހިނދު، ހަނދުމަކުރާށެވެ! ދެން ތިޔަބައިމީހުން ބަލަބަލައިތިއްބައި، ހޮނުގުގުރި ތިޔަބައިމީހުންގެ މަރު ހިފައިފިއެވެ.

and of his signs he shows you lightning, for fear and hope, and that he sends down out of heaven water and he revives the earth after it is dead. surely in that are signs for a people who understand.
އަދި ތިޔަބައިމީހުންނަށް ބިރުދެއްކެވުމުގެ ގޮތުންނާއި (ވާރެއާމެދު) އެދުންވެރި ކުރެއްވުމުގެ ގޮތުން، ވިދުވަރު ތިޔަބައިމީހުންނަށް ދެއްކެވުމާއި، ބިންގަނޑު މަރުވުމަށްފަހު އުޑުން ފެން ވެއްސަވައި، އެ ފެނުގެ ސަބަބުން އެ ބިން އަލުން ދިރުއްވާކަން ވަނީ، އެކަލާނގެ ކުޅަދުންވަންތަކަމުގެ ހެކިތަކުގެ ތެރެއިންނެވެ. ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، ވިސްނާބަޔަކަށް އެކަމުގައި ހެކިތަކެއްވާކަން ކަށަވަރެވެ.

or [it is] like a rainstorm from the sky within which is darkness, thunder and lightning. they put their fingers in their ears against the thunderclaps in dread of death.
ނުވަތަ އެއުރެންގެ މިސާލަކީ، އެ ވިލާގަނޑެއްގައި އަނދިރިތަކަކާއި ގުގުރުމާއި ވިދުން (އެކުލެވިފައި) ވާގޮތުގައި އުޑުމަތީގައިވާ ވާރޭވިލާގަނޑެއްގެ މިސާލެވެ. ހޮނުގެ ސަބަބުން މަރުވެދާނެކަމަށް ބިރުން، އެއުރެންގެ ކަންފަތްތަކުގައި އެއުރެންގެ އިނގިލިތައް އަޅަތެވެ. اللَّه އީ، އެ كافر ންގެ ހުރިހައި ކަމެއް ފުރިހަމައަށް ދެނެވޮޑިގެންވާ ރަސްކަލާނގެއެވެ.

and among his signs is that he shows you the lightning, instilling fear and hope, and sends down water from the sky, so revives the earth after its death; indeed in this are signs for people of intellect.
އަދި ތިޔަބައިމީހުންނަށް ބިރުދެއްކެވުމުގެ ގޮތުންނާއި (ވާރެއާމެދު) އެދުންވެރި ކުރެއްވުމުގެ ގޮތުން، ވިދުވަރު ތިޔަބައިމީހުންނަށް ދެއްކެވުމާއި، ބިންގަނޑު މަރުވުމަށްފަހު އުޑުން ފެން ވެއްސަވައި، އެ ފެނުގެ ސަބަބުން އެ ބިން އަލުން ދިރުއްވާކަން ވަނީ، އެކަލާނގެ ކުޅަދުންވަންތަކަމުގެ ހެކިތަކުގެ ތެރެއިންނެވެ. ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، ވިސްނާބަޔަކަށް އެކަމުގައި ހެކިތަކެއްވާކަން ކަށަވަރެވެ.

'hast thou not seen how god drives the clouds, then composes them, then converts them into a mass, then thou seest the rain issuing out of the midst of them? and he sends down out of heaven mountains, wherein is hail, so that he smites whom he will with it, and turns it aside from whom he will; wellnigh the gleam of his lightning snatches away the sight.
ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، اللَّه، ވިލާ ހިންގަވާތީ ކަލޭގެފާނު ދެކެވަޑައި ނުގަންނަވަމުތޯއެވެ؟ ދެން އެ ވިލާތައް އެއްކުރައްވަތެވެ. ދެން މަތިމައްޗަށް ހުންނަ ވިލާތަކެއްކަމުގައި ލައްވަތެވެ. ފަހެ، އެ ވިލާތަކުގެ ތެރެއިން، ވާރޭ ނުކުމެގެން އަންނާތީ ކަލޭގެފާނު ދެކެވަޑައިގަންނަވާނޫއެވެ. އަދި އުޑުގައިވާ، ފަރުބަދަތައް ފަދަ ބިޔަ ވިލާތަކުން، އެކަލާނގެ ގަނޑުފެން ވެއްސަވަތެވެ. ފަހެ، އެކަލާނގެ އިރާދަކުރައްވާ މީހެއްގައި އެ ޖައްސަވަތެވެ. އަދި އެކަލާނގެ އިރާދަކުރައްވާ މީހެއްގެ ކިބައިން އެ، ދުރުކުރައްވަތެވެ. އޭގެ ވިދުވަރުގެ އަލިގަދަކަމުން، ލޯތަކުގެ ފެނުން ގެންދިޔުމާ ގާތްކުރެތެވެ.
