and whoever does a wrong or wrongs himself but then seeks forgiveness of allah will find allah forgiving and merciful.
எவரேனும் ஒரு தீமையைச் செய்துவிட்டு, அல்லது தமக்குத் தாமே அநியாயம் செய்து பின்னர் அவர் (மனப்பூர்வமாக) அல்லாஹ்விடம் மன்னிப்புக் கேட்பாரானால் - அவர் அல்லாஹ்வை மன்னிப்பவனாகவும் மிக்க கருணை உடையவனாகவும் காண்பார்.

certainly those who were before them had impugned [my apostles]; but then how was my rebuttal!

but then they were succeeded by generations who neglected their prayers and were driven by their own desires. they will assuredly meet with destruction,
ஆனால், இவர்களுக்குப் பின் (வழி கெட்ட) சந்ததியினர் இவர்களுடைய இடத்திற்கு வந்தார்கள்; அவர்கள் தொழுகையை வீணாக்கினார்கள்; (இழிவான மன)இச்சைகளைப் பின்பற்றினார்கள்; (மறுமையில்) அவர்கள் (நரகத்தின்) கேட்டைச் சந்திப்பார்கள்.

they had nearly expelled you from the land and driven you away from it. but then, they too would have stayed but a little after you.
(நபியே!) உம்மை (உம்முடைய) பூமியிலிருந்து அடி பெயரச்செய்து, அதை விட்டும் உம்மை வெளியேற்றிவிட முனைகிறார்கள்; ஆனால் அவர்களோ உமக்குப்பின்னர் சொற்ப நாட்களேயன்றி (அங்கு) தங்கியிருக்க மாட்டார்கள்.

we give whatever we will to whoever desires immediate gains; but then we have prepared hell for him which he will enter, disgraced and rejected.
எவர்கள் (மறுமையைப் புறக்கணித்தும் விரைவில் அழியும்) இவ்வாழ்க்கையை விரும்புகிறார்களோ, அவர்களில் நாம் நாடியவர்களுக்கு நாம் நாடுவதை (இவ்வுலகிலேயே) விரைந்து கொடுத்து விடுவோம்; பின்னரோ அ(த்தகைய)வருக்காக, நாம் ஜஹன்ன(ம் நரக)த்தைச் சித்தப்படுத்தி வைத்திருக்கிறோம்; அதில் அவர் பழிக்கப்பட்டவராகவும் சபிக்கப்பட்டவராகவும் நுழைவார்.

and could you see when they shall become terrified, but (then) there shall be no escape and they shall be seized upon from a near place
இன்னும் (காஃபிர்கள் மறுமையில்) பயத்தால் நடுங்குவதை நிர் காண்பீராயின்; அவர்களுக்குத் தப்பியோட வழியுமிராது இன்னும் சமீபமான இடத்திலிருந்தே அவர்கள் பிடிபடுவார்கள்.

and the inhabitants of median. and moses was denied. then i reprieved those who disbelieved, but then i seized them. so how was my rejection?
(இவ்வாறே) மத்யன் வாசிகளும் (முற்பட்டனர்) இன்னும் மூஸாவையும் பொய்ப்பிக்வே முற்பட்டனர் எனினும் நான் காஃபிர்களுக்கு அவகாசம் கொடுத்துப் பின்னர் அவர்களை நான் பிடித்துக் கொண்டேன்; என் தண்டனை எப்படியிருந்தது? (என்பதை கவனிப்பீராக!)

but then satan tempted him by saying: "o adam, should i show you the tree of immortality, and a kingdom that will never know any wane?"
ஆனால், ஷைத்தான் அவருக்கு (ஊசலாட்டத்தையும்) குழப்பத்தையும் உண்டாக்கி "ஆதமே! நித்திய வாழ்வளிக்கும் மரத்தையும், அழிவில்லாத அரசாங்கத்தையும் உமக்கு நான் அறிவித்துத் தரவா?" என்று கேட்டான்.

when affliction touches the people, they call on their lord, turning to him in repentance. but then, when he gives them a taste of his mercy, some of them attribute partners to their lord.

and the inhabitants of midian also charged their prophets with falsehood. moses was also rejected. i gave respite to those who denied the truth, but then i seized them. consider then, how terrible my repudiation of them was.
(இவ்வாறே) மத்யன் வாசிகளும் (முற்பட்டனர்) இன்னும் மூஸாவையும் பொய்ப்பிக்வே முற்பட்டனர் எனினும் நான் காஃபிர்களுக்கு அவகாசம் கொடுத்துப் பின்னர் அவர்களை நான் பிடித்துக் கொண்டேன்; என் தண்டனை எப்படியிருந்தது? (என்பதை கவனிப்பீராக!)

allah sets forth the parable of (the people of) a town who were secure and content and whose sustenance came in abundance from every quarter. but then the people of the town showed ingratitude towards allah for his bounties, so allah afflicted them with hunger and fear in punishment for their evil deeds.
மேலும், அல்லாஹ் ஓர் ஊரை (அவர்களுக்கு) உதாரணங் கூறுகிறான்; அது அச்சமில்லாதும், நிம்மதியுடனும் இருந்தது, அதன் உணவு(ம் மற்றும் வாழ்க்கை)ப் பொருட்கள் யாவும் ஒவ்வோரிடத்திலிருந்தும் ஏராளமாக வந்து கொண்டிருந்தன - ஆனால் (அவ்வூர்) அல்லாஹ்வின் அருட் கொடைகளுக்கு நன்றி செலுத்தாமல் மாறு செய்தது ஆகவே, அவ்வூரார் செய்து கொண்டிருந்த (தீச்) செயல்களின் காரணமாக, அல்லாஹ் பசியையும் பயத்தையும் அவர்களுக்கு ஆடையாக (அணிவித்து அவற்றை) அனுபவிக்குமாறு செய்தான்.
