அவர்கள் தாம் (தங்கள்) நேர்ச்சைகளை நிறை வேற்றி வந்தார்கள்; (கியாம) நாளை அவர்கள் அஞ்சி வந்தார்கள். அதன் தீங்கு (எங்கும்) பரவியிருக்கும்.

they fulfill their vow and dread a day the evil whereof shall be widespreading.
அவர்கள் தாம் (தங்கள்) நேர்ச்சைகளை நிறை வேற்றி வந்தார்கள்; (கியாம) நாளை அவர்கள் அஞ்சி வந்தார்கள். அதன் தீங்கு (எங்கும்) பரவியிருக்கும்.

they are more in dread of you than of god, because they are people devoid of understanding.
நிச்சயமாக, அவர்களுடைய இதயங்களில் அல்லாஹ்வை விட உங்களைப் பற்றிய பயமே பலமாக இருக்கிறது, (அல்லாஹ்வை விட்டும் அவர்கள் உங்களை அதிகம் அஞ்சுவதற்கு காரணம்) அவர்கள் (உண்மையை) உணர்ந்து கொள்ளாத சமூகத்தினராக இருப்பதனால்தான் இந்த நிலை!

or that he will not seize them while in dread? your lord is gentle and merciful.
அல்லது. அவர்கள் அஞ்சிக் கொண்டிருக்கும் பொழுதே (அல்லாஹ்) அவர்களைப் பிடிக்கமாட்டான் (என்று அச்சமற்றவர்களாக இருக்கிறார்களா?) நிச்சயமாக உங்கள் இறைவன் இரக்கமுடையவன்; பெருங் கிருபையுடையவன்.

verily those who dread their lord unseen, theirs shall be forgiveness and a great hire.
நிச்சயமாக எவர்கள் தங்கள் இறைவனை(ப் பார்க்காதிருந்தும்) அந்தரங்கத்தில் அவனுக்கு அஞ்சுகிறார்களோ, அவர்களுக்கு மன்னிப்புமுண்டு, பெரிய நற்கூலியும் உண்டு.

for those who fear their lord without seeing him and dread the hour (of reckoning).
அவர்கள் தங்கள் இறைவனை அந்தரங்கத்திலும் அஞ்சுவார்கள்; இன்னும் அந்த (இறுதி) வேளையைக் குறித்துப் பயந்து கொண்டும் இருப்பார்கள்.

and allah hath said: take not two gods; he is only one god so me alone, me dread.
இன்னும், அல்லாஹ் கூறுகின்றான்; இரண்டு தெய்வங்களை ஏற்படுத்திக்கொள்ளாதீர்கள்; நிச்சயமாக (வணக்கத்திற்குரிய) அவன் ஒரே நாயன்தான்! என்னையே நீங்கள் அஞ்சங்கள்.

woe, then, betide those who disbelieved in that day of theirs which they are being asked to hold in dread.

they must have surely passed by the town on which we had rained the terrible rain of ruin. how could they not have seen it? still they do not dread the resurrection.

அச்சமும், ஆசையும் ஏற்படும்படி அவன் உங்களுக்கு மின்னலைக் காட்டுவதும்; பிறகு வானத்திலிருந்து மழை பொழியச் செய்து, அதைக் கொண்டு பூமியை - அது (வரண்டு) இறந்த பின்னர் உயிர்ப்பிப்பதும் அவன் அத்தாட்சிகளினின்றும் உள்ளன நிச்சயமாக அதில் சிந்தித்துணரும் சமூகத்திற்கு அத்தாட்சகள் இருக்கின்றன.

so we answered him, and we bestowed on him yahya and we made sound for him his spouse. verily they were wont to vie with one anot her in good deeds and to call upon us with longing and dread, and they were ever before us meek.

but if ye do it not, --and by no means ye shall, --then dread the fire, the fuel whereof is men and stones, gotten ready for the infidels.

and dread the day when no one shall avail anyone in any way; nor shall any ransom be accepted from anyone; nor shall intercession profit any body; nor shall the offenders be helped from any quarter.
இன்னும், (வரப் போகும்) அந்நாளிலிருந்து, உங்களைக் காப்பாற்றிக் கொள்ளுங்கள்;. அன்று ஓர் ஆத்மா பிறிதோர் ஆத்மாவுக்கு உதவி செய்ய இயலாது. அதனிடமிருந்து (அதன் பாவங்களுக்குப் பரிகாரமாக) எந்த நஷ்ட ஈடும் ஒப்புக்கொள்ளப்பட மாட்டாது. எந்த சிபாரிசும் அதற்கு பலனளிக்காது. அவர்கள்(எவர் மூலமாகவும் எந்த) உதவியும் செய்யப்பட மாட்டார்கள்.

and establish you in their place. this is for him who fears my station, and dreads my commination."
"நிச்சயமாக நாம் உங்களை அவர்களுக்குப் பின் இப்பூமியில் குடியேற்றுவோம்; இது என் முன்னால் (விசாரணைக்காக) நிற்பதை அஞ்சியும், என் எச்சரிக்கையை அஞ்சி நடப்பவருக்கும் (சன்மானம்) ஆகும்" (என்றும் வஹீ மூலம் அவர்களுடைய இறைவன் அவர்களுக்கு அறிவித்தான்).
