veriiy those who have sinned were wont at those who had believed to laugh,
நிச்சயமாக, குற்றமிழைத்தார்களே அவர்கள், ஈமான் கொண்டவர்களைப் பார்த்து (உலகில்) சிரித்துக் கொண்டிருந்தார்கள்.

similarly, pharaoh, and those before him, and the ruined villages, sinned
அன்றியும் ஃபிர்அவ்னும், அவனுக்கு முன் இருந்தோரும் தலை கீழாய்ப்புரட்டப்பட்ட ஊராரும், (மறுமையை மறுத்து) பாவங்களைச் செய்து வந்தனர்.

they said, "father, ask god to forgive our sins; we have certainly sinned".
(அதற்கு அவர்கள்) "எங்களுடைய தந்தையே! எங்களுடைய பாவங்களை மன்னிக்குமாறு எங்களுக்காக (இறைவனிடம்) பிரார்த்தனை செய்யுங்கள், நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் தவறு செய்தவர்களாக இருக்கின்றோம்" என்று கூறினார்கள்.

they said, "we swear by god that he has given preference to you over us and we have sinned".
அதற்வர்கள் "அல்லாஹ்வின் மீது ஆணையாக! நாங்கள் உமக்குத் தவறு இழைத்தவர்களாக இருந்தும், நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் எங்களை விட உம்மை மேன்மையுடையவராகத் தெரிவு செய்திருக்கின்றான்" என்று கூறினார்கள்.

and blessed him and isaac too: some of their offspring were good, but some clearly sinned against their souls.
இன்னும் நாம் அவர் மீதும் இஸ்ஹாக் மீதும் பாக்கியங்கள் பொழிந்தோம்; மேலும் அவ்விருவருடைய சந்ததியரில் நன்மை செய்பவர்களும் இருக்கின்றார்கள்; அன்றியும் தமக்குத் தாமே பகிரங்கமாக அநியாயம் செய்து கொள்வோரும் இருக்கின்றனர்.

before you, we sent messengers to their people. they came to them with clear proofs. then we took revenge on those who sinned. it is incumbent on us to help the believers.
மேலும், நிச்சயமாக நாம் உமக்கு முன்னால் தூதர்களை அவர்களுடைய சமூகத்தினரிடம் அனுப்பியிருக்கிறோம், அவர்களும் தெளிவான அத்தாட்சிகளுடன் அவர்களிடத்தில் வந்தார்கள்; பிறகு (அத்தூதர்களை பொய்ப்பிக்க முற்பட்ட) குற்றவாளிகளிடம் பழி வாங்கினோம் - மேலும் முஃமின்களுக்கு உதவி புரிதல் நம் கடமையாகும்.

he prayed, "forgive me lord, for i have sinned against my soul." god forgave him; for he is the forgiving one, the merciful.
"என் இறைவா! நிச்சயமாக நான் என் ஆத்மாவுக்கே அநியாயம் செய்து விட்டேன்; ஆகவே, நீ என்னை மன்னிப்பாயாக!" என்று பிரார்த்தித்தார் அப்போது அவன் அவரை மன்னித்தான் - நிச்சயமாக அவன், மிகவும் மன்னிப்பவனாகவும், கிருபை மிக்கவனாகவும் இருக்கின்றான்.

even if every soul that has sinned possessed whatever is on the earth, it would surely offer it to ransom itself, and feel repentant on seeing the punishment. yet the sentence would be passed with justice, and not one will be wronged.
(அந்த நாளின்) வேதனையைக் காணும்போதுகள்ர்ர்கள்ற அநியாயம் செய்த ஒவ்வோர் ஆத்மாவும், அதனிடம் உலகத்திலுள்ள பொருட்கள் எல்லாமே இருந்திருந்தாலும் அவை அனைத்தையுமே (தனக்குப்) பரிகாரமாகக் கொடுத்துவிட நாடும்; தன் கைசேதத்தையும், கழிவிரக்கத்தையும் வெளிப்படுத்தும்; ஆனால் (அந்நாளில்) அவையிடையே நியாயமாகவே தீர்ப்பளிக்கப்படும் - (ஒரு சிறிதும்) அவற்றுக்கு அநியாயம் செய்யப்பட மாட்டாது.

and whensoever there cometh unto them a sign, they say: we shall not believe until we are vouchsafed the like of that which is vouchsafed unto the apostles of allah. allah knoweth best wheresoever to place his apostleship. anon shall befall those who have sinned vileness before allah and severe chastisement for that which they were wont to plot.
அவர்களுக்கு ஏதாவது ஓர் அத்தாட்சி வந்தால், அவர்கள், "அல்லாஹ்வின் தூதர்களுக்குக் கொடுக்கப்பட்டது போல் எங்களுக்கும் கொடுக்கப்படாத வரையில் நாங்கள் நம்பிக்கை கொள்ளவே மாட்டோம்" என்று கூறுகிறார்கள்; அல்லாஹ் தனது தூதை எங்கு, அமைக்க வேண்டுமென்பதை நன்கு அறிவான்; குற்றம் செய்து கொண்டிருப்போருக்கு அவர்கள் செய்யும் சதியின் காரணமாக அல்லாஹ்விடம் சிறுமையும், கொடிய வேதனையும் உண்டு.
