when death comes to one of them, he says, ‘my lord! take me back,
அவர்களில் ஒருவனுக்கு மரணம் வரும்போது, அவன்; "என் இறைவனே! என்னைத் திரும்ப (உலகுக்குத்) திருப்பி அனுப்புவாயாக!" என்று கூறுவான்.

and thus do we expound the signs that they may turn back (to the right path).
அவர்கள் (பாவங்களிலிருந்து) விடுபட்டு (நம்மிடம்) திரும்புவதற்காக நாம் (நம்) வசனங்களை இவ்வாறு விளக்கிக் கூறுகின்றோம்.

perform the prayer at the sinking of the sun to the darkening of the night and the recital of dawn; surely the recital of dawn is witnessed.
(நபியே!) சூரியன் (உச்சியில்) சாய்ந்ததிலிருந்து இரவின் இருள் சூழும் வரை (ளுஹ்ரு, அஸ்ரு, மஃரிப், இஷா) தொழுகையை நிலை நிறுத்துவீராக இன்னும் ஃபஜ்ருடைய தொழுகையையும் (நிலைநிறுத்துவீராக); நிச்சயமாக ஃபஜ்ரு தொழுகை சான்று கூறுவதாகயிருக்கிறது.

he made it a lasting word among his posterity so that they may come back [to the right path].
இன்னும், தம் சந்ததியினர் (அல்லாஹ்வின் பக்கம்) திரும்பி வரும் பொருட்டு (இப்றாஹீம் தவ்ஹீதை) அவர்களிடம் ஒரு நிலையான வாக்காக ஏற்படுத்தினார்.

and a sign for them is the night. we remove from it [the light of] day, so they are [left] in darkness.
இரவும் இவர்களுக்கோர் அத்தாட்சியாகும்; அதிலிருந்து பகலை கழற்றி விடுகிறோம்; அதனால் இவர்கள் ஆழ்ந்த இருளிலாகிவிடுகிறார்கள்.

establish thou the prayer from the declination of the sun to the darkening of the night, and the recitation at the dawn; verily the recitation at the dawn is ever borne witness to.
(நபியே!) சூரியன் (உச்சியில்) சாய்ந்ததிலிருந்து இரவின் இருள் சூழும் வரை (ளுஹ்ரு, அஸ்ரு, மஃரிப், இஷா) தொழுகையை நிலை நிறுத்துவீராக இன்னும் ஃபஜ்ருடைய தொழுகையையும் (நிலைநிறுத்துவீராக); நிச்சயமாக ஃபஜ்ரு தொழுகை சான்று கூறுவதாகயிருக்கிறது.

(they shall persist in their deeds) until when death comes to anyone of them he will say: "my lord, send me back to the world
அவர்களில் ஒருவனுக்கு மரணம் வரும்போது, அவன்; "என் இறைவனே! என்னைத் திரும்ப (உலகுக்குத்) திருப்பி அனுப்புவாயாக!" என்று கூறுவான்.

and keep up prayer in the two parts of the day and in the first hours of the night; surely good deeds take away evil deeds this is a reminder to the mindful.
பகலின் (காலை, மாலை ஆகிய) இருமுனைகளிலும், இரவின் பகுதியிலும் நீங்கள் தொழுகையை நிலைப்படுத்துவீராக - நிச்சயமாக நற்செயல்கள், தீச்செயல்களைப் போக்கிவிடும் - (இறைவனை) நினைவு கூறுவோருக்கு இது நல்லுபதேசமாக இருக்கும்.
