(முஃமின்களே!) முஷ்ரிக்குகளில் (இணைவைத்து வணங்குபவர்களில்) எவர்களுடன் நீங்கள் உடன்படிக்கை செய்துள்ளீர்களோ, அவர்களிடமிருந்து அல்லாஹ்வும், அவனுடைய தூதரும் விலகிக் கொண்டனர்.

an acquittal from allah and his messenger to the idolaters with whom you have made agreements;
(முஃமின்களே!) முஷ்ரிக்குகளில் (இணைவைத்து வணங்குபவர்களில்) எவர்களுடன் நீங்கள் உடன்படிக்கை செய்துள்ளீர்களோ, அவர்களிடமிருந்து அல்லாஹ்வும், அவனுடைய தூதரும் விலகிக் கொண்டனர்.

a declaration of immunity from god and his messenger to the polytheists with whom you had made a treaty.
(முஃமின்களே!) முஷ்ரிக்குகளில் (இணைவைத்து வணங்குபவர்களில்) எவர்களுடன் நீங்கள் உடன்படிக்கை செய்துள்ளீர்களோ, அவர்களிடமிருந்து அல்லாஹ்வும், அவனுடைய தூதரும் விலகிக் கொண்டனர்.

as for those with whom you have made a treaty and who abrogate it every time, and do not fear god,
(நபியே!) இவர்களில் நீர் எவருடன் உடன்படிக்கை செய்து கொண்டாலும், ஒவ்வொரு தடவையும் அவர்கள் தம் உடன்படிக்கையை முறித்தே வருகின்றனர்; அவர்கள் (அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு) அஞ்சுவதேயில்லை.

those of them with whom thou hast made compact then they break their compact every time, not being godfearing.
(நபியே!) இவர்களில் நீர் எவருடன் உடன்படிக்கை செய்து கொண்டாலும், ஒவ்வொரு தடவையும் அவர்கள் தம் உடன்படிக்கையை முறித்தே வருகின்றனர்; அவர்கள் (அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு) அஞ்சுவதேயில்லை.

and know that your property and your children are a temptation, and that allah is he with whom there is a mighty reward.
"நிச்சயமாக உங்கள் செல்வமும், உங்கள் குழந்தைகளும் (உங்களுக்குச்) சோதனையாக இருக்கின்றன நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ்விடத்தில் தான் மிகவும் உயர்ந்த நற்கூலி உண்டு" என்பதை நீங்கள் நன்கு அறிந்து கொள்ளுங்கள்.

and know ye that your possessions and your progeny are but a trial; and that it is allah with whom lies your highest reward.
"நிச்சயமாக உங்கள் செல்வமும், உங்கள் குழந்தைகளும் (உங்களுக்குச்) சோதனையாக இருக்கின்றன நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ்விடத்தில் தான் மிகவும் உயர்ந்த நற்கூலி உண்டு" என்பதை நீங்கள் நன்கு அறிந்து கொள்ளுங்கள்.

—those with whom you made a treaty, and who violated their treaty every time, and who are not godwary.
(நபியே!) இவர்களில் நீர் எவருடன் உடன்படிக்கை செய்து கொண்டாலும், ஒவ்வொரு தடவையும் அவர்கள் தம் உடன்படிக்கையை முறித்தே வருகின்றனர்; அவர்கள் (அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு) அஞ்சுவதேயில்லை.

(this is a declaration of) immunity by allah and his apostle towards those of the idolaters with whom you made an agreement.
(முஃமின்களே!) முஷ்ரிக்குகளில் (இணைவைத்து வணங்குபவர்களில்) எவர்களுடன் நீங்கள் உடன்படிக்கை செய்துள்ளீர்களோ, அவர்களிடமிருந்து அல்லாஹ்வும், அவனுடைய தூதரும் விலகிக் கொண்டனர்.

enquire from the people of that city, or ask the men of the caravan with whom we have come. we are verily speaking the truth.'"
நாங்கள் தங்கியிருந்த ஊர் வாசிகளையும், நாங்கள் முன்னோக்கி(ச் சேர்ந்து) வந்த ஒட்டகக் கூட்டத்தினரையும் நீங்கள் கேட்டுக் கொள்ளுங்கள் - நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் உண்மையே சொல்லுகின்றோம்' (என்றும் சொல்லுங்கள்" என்று கூறித் தந்தையாரிடம் அனுப்பி வைத்தார்).

a (declaration) of immunity from allah and his messenger, to those of the pagans with whom ye have contracted mutual alliances:-
(முஃமின்களே!) முஷ்ரிக்குகளில் (இணைவைத்து வணங்குபவர்களில்) எவர்களுடன் நீங்கள் உடன்படிக்கை செய்துள்ளீர்களோ, அவர்களிடமிருந்து அல்லாஹ்வும், அவனுடைய தூதரும் விலகிக் கொண்டனர்.

(especially) those with whom you entered into a covenant and then they broke their covenant time after time, and who do not fear allah.
(நபியே!) இவர்களில் நீர் எவருடன் உடன்படிக்கை செய்து கொண்டாலும், ஒவ்வொரு தடவையும் அவர்கள் தம் உடன்படிக்கையை முறித்தே வருகின்றனர்; அவர்கள் (அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு) அஞ்சுவதேயில்லை.

and unto each we have appointed inheritors of that which the parents or the near of kin leave behind, and unto those with whom ye have made your pledges give their portion. verily allah is ever of everything a witness.
இன்னும், தாய் தந்தையரும், நெருங்கிய பந்துக்களும் விட்டுச் செல்கின்ற செல்வத்திலிருந்து (விகிதப்படி அதையடையும்) வாரிசுகளை நாம் குறிப்பாக்கியுள்ளோம்;. அவ்வாறே நீங்கள் உடன்படிக்கை செய்து கொண்டோருக்கும் அவர்களுடைய பாகத்தை அவர்களுக்குக் கொடுத்து விடுங்கள்;. நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் எல்லாப் பொருட்கள் மீதும் சாட்சியாளனாக இருக்கிறான்.

and those who disbelieve say: thou art not a sent one. say thou: allah is a sufficient witness between me and you, and also he with whom is knowledge of the book.
(நபியே!) நீர் (இறைவனால் அனுப்பப்பட்ட) தூதர் அல்லர் என்று காஃபிர்கள் சொல்கிறார்கள்; எனக்கும், உங்களுக்குமிடையே சாட்சியாக இருக்க அல்லாஹ்வும், வேதஞானம் யாரிடமிருக்கிறதோ அவர்களும் போதுமானவர்கள்" என்று நீர் கூறிவிடுவீராக!

except for those among the polytheists with whom you had made a treaty, and did not violate any of its terms, nor aided anyone against you. so fulfill the treaty with them to the end of its term. god loves the righteous.
ஆனால், நீங்கள் உடன்படிக்கை செய்து கொண்ட இந்த முஷ்ரிக்குகளில், எதையும் குறைத்து விடாமலும், உங்களுக்கு விரோதமாக எவருக்கும் உதவி செய்யாமலும் இருக்கின்றார்களோ அவர்களைத் தவிர அவர்களுக்கு அவர்களின் உடன்படிக்கையை அவர்களின் காலக் கெடுவரையில் பூரணமாக நிறைவேற்றுங்கள் - நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் பயபக்தியுடையோரை நேசிக்கின்றான்.

"may god forgive us," he said, "if we hold any one but him with whom we found our property, or else we would be unjust."
அதற்கவர், 'எங்கள் பொருறை எவரிடம் நாங்கள் கண்டோமோ, அவரையன்றி (வேறு ஒருவரை) நாம் எடுத்துக் கொள்வதிலிருந்து அல்லாஹ் காப்பாற்றுவானாக! (அப்படிச் செய்தால்) நிச்சமயாக நாங்கள் அநியாயக்காரர்களாகி விடுவோம்" என்று கூறினார்கள்.

"(one that) will (truly) represent me, and represent the posterity of jacob; and make him, o my lord! one with whom thou art well-pleased!"
"அவர் எனக்கு வாரிசாகவும் இருப்பார், யஃகூபுடைய சந்ததியினருக்கு வாரிசாகவும் இருப்பார்; என் இறைவனே! அவரை (உன்னால்) பொருந்திக்கொள்ளப் பட்டவராகவும் நீ ஆக்கி வைப்பாயாக!"
