พระองค์ทรงสร้างชั้นฟ้าทั้งหลายและแผ่นดินด้วยความจริง และทรงทำให้พวกเจ้าเป็นรูปร่างและทรงทำให้รูปร่างของพวกเจ้าสวยงามยิ่ง และยังพระองค์เท่านั้นคือทางกลับ

forgiver of sin, and acceptor of repentance severe in chastisement, lord of power. there is no god but he; unto him is the journeying.
ผู้ทรงอภัยในบาป และผู้ทรงรับการขอลุแก่โทษ ผู้ทรงเข้มงวดในการลงโทษ ผู้ทรงเต็มเปี่ยมไปด้วยความโปรดปราน ไม่มีพระเจ้าอื่นใดนอกจากพระองค์ ยังพระองค์คือการกลับไป

and when ye are journeying in the earth there shall be no fault in you that ye shorten the prayer if ye fear that those who disbelieve shall molest you, verily the infidels are ever unto you an avowed enemy.
และเมื่อพวกเจ้าเดินทางไปในผืนแผ่นดินก็ไม่มีบาปใด ๆ แก่พวกเจ้าในการที่พวกเจ้าจะลดลงจากการละหมาด หากพวกเจ้ากลัวว่าบรรดาผู้ปฏิเสธศรัทธาจะข่มเหงรังแกพวกเจ้า แท้จริงบรรดาผู้ปฏิเสธศรัทธานั้น เป็นศัตรูอันชัดเจนแก่พวกเจ้า

and when you are journeying in the land, there is no fault in you that you shorten the prayer if you fear that those who disbelieve will afflict you. indeed, the unbelievers are a clear enemy for you.
และเมื่อพวกเจ้าเดินทางไปในผืนแผ่นดินก็ไม่มีบาปใด ๆ แก่พวกเจ้าในการที่พวกเจ้าจะลดลงจากการละหมาด หากพวกเจ้ากลัวว่าบรรดาผู้ปฏิเสธศรัทธาจะข่มเหงรังแกพวกเจ้า แท้จริงบรรดาผู้ปฏิเสธศรัทธานั้น เป็นศัตรูอันชัดเจนแก่พวกเจ้า

say: 'go about journeying the earth, and behold the end of those who gave the lie (to the truth).'
จงกล่าวเถิด (มุฮัมมัด)ว่า พวกท่านจงเดิน ไปในแผ่นดินเถิด แล้วจงดูว่า ผลสุดท้ายของบรรดาผู้ปฏิเสธนั้นเป็นอย่างไรบ้าง ?

we have committed man about his parents. his mother carries him in her womb in weakness and debility, weaning him in two years. so he should be grateful to me and his parents. to me is the journeying back.
และเราได้สั่งการแก่มนุษย์เกี่ยวกับบิดา มารดาของเขา โดยที่มารดาของเขาได้อุ้มครรภ์เขาอ่อนเพลียลงครั้งแล้วครั้งเล่า และการหย่านมของเขาในระยะเวลาสองปี เจ้าจงขอบคุณข้า และบิดามารดาของเจ้า ยังเรานั้น คือการกลับไป

and we have enjoined upon man concerning his partners - his mother beareth him in weakness upon weakness, and his weaning is in two years - give thanks unto me and unto thy parents. unto me is the journeying.
และเราได้สั่งการแก่มนุษย์เกี่ยวกับบิดา มารดาของเขา โดยที่มารดาของเขาได้อุ้มครรภ์เขาอ่อนเพลียลงครั้งแล้วครั้งเล่า และการหย่านมของเขาในระยะเวลาสองปี เจ้าจงขอบคุณข้า และบิดามารดาของเจ้า ยังเรานั้น คือการกลับไป

(o prophet), your lord knows that you sometimes stand up in prayer nearly two-thirds of the night, and sometimes half or one-third of it, and so does a party of those with you; allah measures the night and the day. he knows that you cannot keep an accurate count of it, so he has shown mercy to you. so now recite as much of the qur'an as you can. he knows that there are among you those who are sick and others who are journeying in the land in quest of allah's bounty, and still others who are fighting in the cause of allah. so recite as much of the qur'an as you easily can, and establish prayer, and pay zakah, and give allah a goodly loan. whatever good you send forth for yourselves, you shall find it with allah. that is better and its reward is greater. and ask for allah's forgiveness; surely he is most forgiving, most compassionate.
และอัลลอฮฺทรงกำหนดเวลากลางคืนและกลางวัน พระองค์ทรงรู้ดีว่าพวกเจ้าไม่สามารถที่จะกำหนดเวลาได้ ด้วยเหตุนี้พระองค์จึงทรงผ่อนผันให้แก่พวกเจ้า ดังนั้นพวกเจ้าจงอ่านอัลกุรอานตามแต่สะดวกเถิด พระองค์ทรงรู้ดีว่า อาจมีบางคนในหมู่พวกเจ้าเป็นคนป่วย และบางคนอื่น ๆ ต้องเดินทางไปดินแดนอื่น เพื่อแสวงหาจากความโปรดปรานของอัลลอฮฺ และบางคนอื่นต่อสู้ในทางของอัลลอฮฺ ดังนั้นพวกเจ้าจงอ่านตามสะดวกจากอัลกุรอานเถิด และจงดำรงไว้ซึ่งการละหมาดและจงบริจาคซะกาต และจงให้อัลลอฮฺยืมอย่างดีเยี่ยมเถิด และความดีอันใดที่พวกเจ้าได้กระทำไว้เพื่อตัวของพวกเจ้าเองพวกเจ้าก็จะพบมัน ณ ที่อัลลอฮฺ ซึ่งเป็นความดีและผลตอบแทนก็ยิ่งใหญ่กว่า ดังนั้นพวกเจ้าจงขออภัยโทษต่ออัลลอฮฺ แท้จริงอัลลอฮฺเป็นผู้ทรงอภัย ผู้ทรงเมตตาเสมอ
