we sent a tumultuous wind against them on a day of unremitting misfortune,

whatever misfortune befalls you is of your own doing, god forgives much,

indeed, we sent upon them a screaming wind on a day of continuous misfortune,
แท้จริงเราได้ส่งลมพายุที่หนาวเหน็บไปยังพวกเขา ในวันแห่งความหายนะที่ติดต่อกัน

whatever misfortune befalls you is a consequence of your deeds; yet he forgives much.
และเคราะห์กรรมอันใดที่ประสบแก่พวกเจ้า ก็เนื่องด้วยน้ำมือของพวกเจ้าได้ขวนขวายได้ และพระองค์ทรงอภัย (ความผิดให้) มากต่อมากแล้ว

they will answer, "lord, misfortune overcame us and we became an erring people.
พวกเขากล่าวว่า “ข้าแต่พระเจ้าของเราความชั่วช้าเลวทรามของพวกเราได้เข้ามาครอบงำพวกเรา และพวกเราเป็นหมู่ชนหลงทาง”

whatever of misfortune striketh you, it is what your right hands have earned. and he forgiveth much.
และเคราะห์กรรมอันใดที่ประสบแก่พวกเจ้า ก็เนื่องด้วยน้ำมือของพวกเจ้าได้ขวนขวายได้ และพระองค์ทรงอภัย (ความผิดให้) มากต่อมากแล้ว

or do they say [of you], "a poet for whom we await a misfortune of time?"

and then, when he averts the misfortune from you, a group among you starts ascribing partners to their lord!

and whatever blessings you have, are all from allah – then whenever misfortune reaches you, towards him only do you seek refuge.

and will say, “o our misfortune!” it will be said to them, “this is the day of justice.”

no misfortune can happen on earth or in your souls but is recorded in a decree before we bring it into existence: that is truly easy for allah:

and among the bedouins are some who consider what they spend as a loss and await for you turns of misfortune. upon them will be a misfortune of evil. and allah is hearing and knowing.
และในหมู่อาหรับชนบทนั้น มีผู้ถือเอาสิ่งที่ตนบริจาคไปเป็นค่าปรับ และถือว่าเป็นการขาดทุนและพวกเขารอคอยเหตุร้ายที่จะเกิดแก่พวกท่าน เหตุร้ายเหล่านั้นจงประสบแก่พวกเขาเขาเถิดและอัลลอฮ์นั้นเป็นผู้ทรงได้ยินทรงรอบรู้

and surely among you is he who would certainly hang back! if then a misfortune befalls you he says: surely allah conferred a benefit on me that i was not present with them.
และแท้จริงในหมู่พวกเจ้านั้นมีผู้ที่ทำชักช้า อยู่ หากมีเหตุร้ายใด ประสบแก่พวกเจ้า เขาก็กล่าวว่า แท้จริงอัลลอฮฺได้ทรงกรุณาแก่ฉัน ที่ฉันมิได้ร่วมอยู่กับพวกเขา

if good befalls you, it grieves them, but if a misfortune befalls you, they say, "we took our precautions beforehand!" they turn away rejoicing.
“หากมีความดีใด ๆ ประสบแก่เจ้าก็ทำให้พวกเขาไม่สบายใจ และหากมีอันตรายใด ๆ ประสบแก่เจ้า พวกเขาก็กล่าวว่า แท้จริงพวกเราได้เอากิจการของเราไว้ก่อน แล้ว และพวกเขาก็ผินหลังให้ โดยที่พวกเขาเป็นผู้ปิติยินดี

and among the desert-arabs are those who consider their contribution to be a fine. and they wait for a reversal of your fortunes. upon them will fall the cycle of misfortune. god is hearing and knowing.
และในหมู่อาหรับชนบทนั้น มีผู้ถือเอาสิ่งที่ตนบริจาคไปเป็นค่าปรับ และถือว่าเป็นการขาดทุนและพวกเขารอคอยเหตุร้ายที่จะเกิดแก่พวกท่าน เหตุร้ายเหล่านั้นจงประสบแก่พวกเขาเขาเถิดและอัลลอฮ์นั้นเป็นผู้ทรงได้ยินทรงรอบรู้

and if we bestow upon him the enjoyment of a favour after a misfortune that had befallen him, he will surely say, “the evils have gone away from me”; indeed he is jubilant, boastful.

(such are human beings) that when any misfortune befalls them, they cry to their lord, penitently turning to him. but no sooner that he lets them have a taste of his mercy than some of them begin associating others with their lord in his divinity
