tak i ty máš některé, kteříž drží učení mikulášenců, což já v nenávisti mám.

ale toto dobré do sebe máš, že nenávidíš skutků mikulášenské roty, kterýchž i já nenávidím.

"to the angel of the church in ephesus write: the one who holds the seven stars in his right hand, the one who walks among the seven golden lampstands, says this. 'i know your deeds and your toil and perseverance, and that you cannot endure evil men, and you put to the test those who call themselves apostles, and they are not, and you found them to be false... yet this you do have, that you hate the deeds of the nicolaitans, which i also hate'" (revelation 2:1,2,6 nas).
ve svém dopise sedmi církvím jedná jan ze všeho nejdřív se stavem uefezských: „andělu církve vefezu napiš: toto praví ten, který drží ve své pravici těch sedm hvězd, který se prochází uprostřed těch sedmi zlatých svícnů: znám tvé skutky atvou práci, itvou vytrvalost, avím, že nemůžeš snést zlé lidi, avyzkoušel jsi ty, kteří si říkají apoštolové, ale nejsou, ashledal jsi, že jsou lháři… ale máš to, že nenávidíš skutky mikulášenců, které nenávidím ijá“ (zjevení 2:1–2,6).
