Երբ Յովսէփն եկաւ իր եղբայրների մօտ, նրանք նրա վրայից հանեցին ծաղկազարդ պատմուճանը
and it came to pass, when joseph was come unto his brethren, that they stript joseph out of his coat, his coat of many colours that was on him;

Նրանք առան Յովսէփի պատմուճանը, մի ուլ մորթեցին, պատմուճանը թաթախեցին ուլի արեան մէջ,

Նա ճանաչեց այն ու ասաց. «Այս պատմուճանը իմ որդունն է, վայրի գազան է կերել նրան, մի գազան է յօշոտել Յովսէփին»:

Փարաւոնը մարդ ուղարկեց ու կանչել տուեց Յովսէփին: Հանեցին նրան բանտից, երեսն ածիլեցին, փոխեցին նրա պատմուճանը, եւ նա ներկայացաւ փարաւոնին:
then pharaoh sent and called joseph, and they brought him hastily out of the dungeon: and he shaved himself, and changed his raiment, and came in unto pharaoh.

«Զգուշացէ՛ք օրէնսգէտներից, որոնք ուզում են պատմուճաններով շրջել եւ սիրում են ողջոյններ ընդունել հրապարակներում ու առաջին աթոռները գրաւել ժողովարաններում եւ պատուոյ տեղերը նստել ընթրիքների ժամանակ,
beware of the scribes, which desire to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the markets, and the highest seats in the synagogues, and the chief rooms at feasts;
