and it came to pass, that as he was come nigh unto jericho, a certain blind man sat by the way side begging:
ወደ ኢያሪኮም በቀረበ ጊዜ አንድ ዕውር እየለመነ በመንገድ ዳር ተቀምጦ ነበር።

and they came to jericho: and as he went out of jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind bartimaeus, the son of timaeus, sat by the highway side begging.
ወደ ኢያሪኮም መጡ። ከደቀ መዛሙርቱና ከብዙ ሕዝብ ጋር ከኢያሪኮ ሲወጣ የጤሜዎስ ልጅ ዕውሩ በርጤሜዎስ እየለመነ በመንገድ ዳር ተቀምጦ ነበር።

( alms are ) for the poor who are confined in the way of allah-- they cannot go about in the land ; the ignorant man thinks them to be rich on account of ( their ) abstaining ( from begging ) ; you can recognise them by their mark ; they do not beg from men importunately ; and whatever good thing you spend , surely allah knows it .
( የምትመጸውቱት ) ለእነዚያ በአላህ መንገድ ( ለመታገል ሲሉ ) ለታገዱት ድኾች ነው ፡ ፡ በምድር መኼድን አይችሉም ፡ ፡ ( ልመናን ) ከመጥጠበቃቸው ( የተነሳ ) የማያውቅ ሰው ሀብታሞች ናቸው ብሎ ይጠረጥራቸዋል ፡ ፡ በምልክታቸው ታውቃቸዋለህ ፡ ፡ ሰዎችን በችክታ አይለምኑም ፡ ፡ ከገንዘብም የምትለግሱት አላህ እርሱን ዐዋቂ ነው ፡ ፡
