እርዳታንም ( ከአላህ ) ፈለጉ ፤ ( ተረዱም ) ፡ ፡ ጨካኝ ሞገደኛ የኾነም ሁሉ አፈረ ፡ ፡

and they besought judgment , and disappointed was every tyrant obstinate .
እርዳታንም ( ከአላህ ) ፈለጉ ፤ ( ተረዱም ) ፡ ፡ ጨካኝ ሞገደኛ የኾነም ሁሉ አፈረ ፡ ፡

and they asked for judgment and every insolent opposer was disappointed :

( ድልን ያጎናጸፋችሁ ) ከእነዚያ ከካዱት ከፊልን ሊቆርጥ ( ሊያጠፋ ) ወይም ሊያዋርዳቸውና ያፈሩ ኾነው እንዲመለሱ ነው ፡ ፡

he thus cuts off a section of those who disbelieved , or subdues them , so they retreat disappointed .
( ድልን ያጎናጸፋችሁ ) ከእነዚያ ከካዱት ከፊልን ሊቆርጥ ( ሊያጠፋ ) ወይም ሊያዋርዳቸውና ያፈሩ ኾነው እንዲመለሱ ነው ፡ ፡

( ድልን ያጎናጸፋችሁ ) ከእነዚያ ከካዱት ከፊልን ሊቆርጥ ( ሊያጠፋ ) ወይም ሊያዋርዳቸውና ያፈሩ ኾነው እንዲመለሱ ነው ፡ ፡

and they requested victory from allah , and disappointed , [ therefore ] , was every obstinate tyrant .
እርዳታንም ( ከአላህ ) ፈለጉ ፤ ( ተረዱም ) ፡ ፡ ጨካኝ ሞገደኛ የኾነም ሁሉ አፈረ ፡ ፡

and downcast will be faces before the living , the self- subsisting , and disappointed will be he who beareth a wrong .
ፊቶችም ሁሉ ሕያው አስተናባሪ ለኾነው ( አላህ ) ተዋረዱ ፡ ፡ በደልንም የተሸከመ ሰው በእርግጥ ከሰረ ፡ ፡

it was revealed to noah that besides those who had already accepted his faith , no one from his people would ever believe him . he was told not to be disappointed about what his people had done ,
ወደ ኑሕም እነሆ « ከሕዝቦችህ በእርግጥ ካመኑት በስተቀር ( ወደፊት ) አያምኑም ፡ ፡ ይሠሩትም በነበሩት ( ክህደት ) አትዘን ማለት ተወረደ ፡ ፡ »

" lord , my bones have weakened and my head has turned hoary with age , but never , lord , have i been disappointed in my prayer to you :
አለ « ጌታዬ ሆይ ! እኔ አጥንቴ ደከመ ፤ ራሴም በሺበት ተንቀለቀለ ፤ አንተም በመለመኔ ጌታዬ ሆይ ! ( ምንጊዜም ) ዕድለ ቢስ አልሆንኩም ፡ ፡

he said , “ my lord , my bones have become feeble , and my hair is aflame with gray , and never , lord , have i been disappointed in my prayer to you .
አለ « ጌታዬ ሆይ ! እኔ አጥንቴ ደከመ ፤ ራሴም በሺበት ተንቀለቀለ ፤ አንተም በመለመኔ ጌታዬ ሆይ ! ( ምንጊዜም ) ዕድለ ቢስ አልሆንኩም ፡ ፡

he said , ‘ my lord ! indeed my bones have become feeble , and my head has turned white with age , yet never have i , my lord , been disappointed in supplicating you !
አለ « ጌታዬ ሆይ ! እኔ አጥንቴ ደከመ ፤ ራሴም በሺበት ተንቀለቀለ ፤ አንተም በመለመኔ ጌታዬ ሆይ ! ( ምንጊዜም ) ዕድለ ቢስ አልሆንኩም ፡ ፡
