i need no livelihood from them , nor do i need them to feed me .
ከነርሱም ምንም ሲሳይ አልፈልግም ፡ ፡ ሊመግቡኝም አልሻም ፡ ፡

he said , " what knowledge do i have of their doings ?
( እርሱም ) አላቸው « ይሠሩት በነበሩት ነገር ምን ዕውቀት አለኝ ፡ ፡

he said , “ what do i know what their deeds are ? ”
( እርሱም ) አላቸው « ይሠሩት በነበሩት ነገር ምን ዕውቀት አለኝ ፡ ፡

i desire no provision from them , nor do i desire that they should feed me .
ከነርሱም ምንም ሲሳይ አልፈልግም ፡ ፡ ሊመግቡኝም አልሻም ፡ ፡

nor do i know whether it may mean a trial for you and a short reprieve . "
እርሱም ( ቅጣትን ማቆየት ) ምናልባት ለእናንተ ፈተናና እስከ ጊዜው መጠቃቀሚያ እንደሆነም አላውቅም ፤ ( በላቸው ) ፡ ፡

" no reward do i ask of you for it : my reward is only from the lord of the worlds .
« በርሱም ላይ ምንም ዋጋ አልጠይቃችሁም ፡ ፡ ዋጋዬ በዓለማት ጌታ ላይ እንጅ በሌላ ላይ አይደለም ፡ ፡

ወዲያውም ( የጥፋት ) ጩኸቲቱ በእውነት ያዘቻቸው ፡ ፡ እንደ ጎርፍ ግብስባሽም አደረግናቸው ፡ ፡ ለበደለኞች ሕዝቦችም ( ከእዝነት ) መራቅ ተገባቸው ፡ ፡

and not to invoke any other than god , who can neither help nor hurt me ; for if i do , i would surely be unjust .
« ከአላህም በቀር የማይጠቅምንና የማይጎዳን አትገዛ ፡ ፡ ብትሠራም አንተ ያንጊዜ ከበደለኞቹ ትሆናለህ » ( ተብያለሁ በላቸው ) ፡ ፡

and he took attendance of the birds and said , " why do i not see the hoopoe - or is he among the absent ?
በራሪዎቹንም ተመለከተ ፤ አለም « ሁድሁድን ለምን አላየውም ! በእውነቱ ከራቁት ነበርን ፡ ፡

nor do i believe that the hour of resurrection will ever come to pass . and even if i am returned to my lord , i shall find a better place than this . "
« ሰዓቲቱንም ቋሚ ( ኋኝ ) ናት ብዬ አልጠረጥርም ፡ ፡ ( እንደምትለው ) ወደ ጌታዬም ብመለስ ከእርሷ የበለጠን መመለሻ በእርግጥ አገኛለሁ » ( አለው ) ፡ ፡

nor do i think that there will be a day of judgment . even if i shall be brought before my lord , i certainly deserve to have a better place than this . "
« ሰዓቲቱንም ቋሚ ( ኋኝ ) ናት ብዬ አልጠረጥርም ፡ ፡ ( እንደምትለው ) ወደ ጌታዬም ብመለስ ከእርሷ የበለጠን መመለሻ በእርግጥ አገኛለሁ » ( አለው ) ፡ ፡

but if they turn back , say : allah is sufficient for me , there is no god but he ; on him do i rely , and he is the lord of mighty power .
ቢያፈገፍጉም አላህ በቂዬ ነው ፡ ፡ ከእርሱ ሌላ አምላክ የለም ፡ ፡ በእርሱ ላይ ተጠጋሁ እርሱም የታላቁ ዐርሽ ጌታ ነው በላቸው ፡ ፡

and say : " i will not follow your wishes . if i do , i shall be lost and not be one of those who follow the right path . "
« እኔ እነዚያን ከአላህ ሌላ የምትጠሩዋቸውን ከመገዛት ተከልክያለሁ » በላቸው ፡ ፡ « ዝንባሌያችሁን አልከተልም ፡ ፡ ያን ጊዜ በእርግጥ ተሳሳትኩ ፡ ፡ እኔም ከተመሪዎቹ አይደለሁም » በላቸው ፡ ፡
