woe to us ! would that we had not been friends with so and so .
« ዋ ጥፋቴ ! እገሌን ወዳጅ ባልያዝኩ ኖሮ እመኛለሁ ፡ ፡

believers , have fear of god and always be friends with the truthful ones .
እናንተ ያመናችሁ ሆይ ! አላህን ፍሩ ፤ ከእውነተኞቹም ጋር ኹኑ ፡ ፡

believers , do not consider the jews and christians as your intimate friends for they are only friends with each other . whoever does so will be considered as one of them .
እናንተ ያመናችሁ ሆይ ! አይሁዶችንና ክርስቲያኖችን ረዳቶች አድርጋችሁ አትያዙ ፡ ፡ ከፊላቸው ለከፊሉ ረዳቶች ናቸው ፡ ፡ ከእናንተም ውስጥ ረዳቶች የሚያደርጋቸው ሰው እርሱ ከነርሱ ነው ፡ ፡ አላህ አመጸኞችን ሕዝቦች አያቀናም ፡ ፡

believers , do not make friends with those against whom allah is wrathful and who are despaired of the hereafter , as despaired as are the unbelievers lying in their graves .
እላንተ ያመናቸሁ ሆይ ! አላህ በእነርሱ ላይ የተቆጣባቸውን ሕዝቦች አትወዳጁ ፡ ፡ ከሓዲዎች ከመቃብር ሰዎች ተስፋ እንደቆረጡ ከመጨረሻይቱ ዓለም ( ምንዳ ) በእርግጥ ተስፋ ቆርጠዋል ፡ ፡

o you who believe , do not make friends with those who have suffered the anger of god by having become despondent of the life to come like those unbelievers who are despondent of those who are in the graves .
እላንተ ያመናቸሁ ሆይ ! አላህ በእነርሱ ላይ የተቆጣባቸውን ሕዝቦች አትወዳጁ ፡ ፡ ከሓዲዎች ከመቃብር ሰዎች ተስፋ እንደቆረጡ ከመጨረሻይቱ ዓለም ( ምንዳ ) በእርግጥ ተስፋ ቆርጠዋል ፡ ፡

he only forbids you from making friends with those who fought over faith with you and banished you from your homes , and aided in your exile . whoever makes friends with them is a transgressor .
አላህ የሚከለክላችሁ ከእነዚያ በሃይማኖት ከተጋደሉዋችሁ ፣ ከቤቶቻችሁም ካወጡዋችሁ ፣ እናንተም በማውጣት ላይ ከረዱት ( ከሓዲዎች ) እንዳትወዳጁዋቸው ብቻ ነው ፡ ፡ ወዳጅ የሚያደርጓቸውም ሰዎች እነዚያ እነርሱ በዳዮቹ ናቸው ፡ ፡

do not make friends with those who have incurred the wrath of god . such men are indeed bereft of all hope of a life to come , just as those who deny the truth lying in their graves are bereft of all hopes .
እላንተ ያመናቸሁ ሆይ ! አላህ በእነርሱ ላይ የተቆጣባቸውን ሕዝቦች አትወዳጁ ፡ ፡ ከሓዲዎች ከመቃብር ሰዎች ተስፋ እንደቆረጡ ከመጨረሻይቱ ዓለም ( ምንዳ ) በእርግጥ ተስፋ ቆርጠዋል ፡ ፡

( nor make friends with ) those who , when you call ( the faithful ) to prayer , make mock of it and jest , because they do not understand .
ወደ ሶላትም በጠራችሁ ጊዜ ( ጥሪይቱን ) መሳለቂያና መጫወቻ አድርገው ይይዟታል ፡ ፡ ይህ እነርሱ የማያውቁ ሕዝቦች በመኾናቸው ነው ፡ ፡

allah only forbids you to be friends with those who have fought against you on account of religion and who have driven you out of your homes and have abetted in your expulsion . and any who make friends with them , they are the wrong-doers .
አላህ የሚከለክላችሁ ከእነዚያ በሃይማኖት ከተጋደሉዋችሁ ፣ ከቤቶቻችሁም ካወጡዋችሁ ፣ እናንተም በማውጣት ላይ ከረዱት ( ከሓዲዎች ) እንዳትወዳጁዋቸው ብቻ ነው ፡ ፡ ወዳጅ የሚያደርጓቸውም ሰዎች እነዚያ እነርሱ በዳዮቹ ናቸው ፡ ፡

so do not make friends [ with anyone ] from among them , until they migrate in the way of allah . but if they turn their backs , seize them and kill them wherever you find them , and do not take from among them friends or helpers ,
( እነርሱ ) እንደ ካዱ ብትክዱና እኩል ብትኾኑ ተመኙ ! በአላህም ሃይማኖት እስከሚሰደዱ ድረስ ከነሱ ወዳጆችን አትያዙ ፡ ፡ ( ከእምነት ) ቢያፈገፍጉም ያዙዋቸው ፤ ( ማርኩዋቸው ) ፡ ፡ ባገኛችሁበትም ስፍራ ግደሉዋቸው ፡ ፡ ከእነሱም ወዳጅንና ረዳትን አትያዙ ፡ ፡

allah forbids you only in regard to those who made war against you on account of religion and expelled you from your homes and supported [ the polytheists of makkah ] in your expulsion , that you make friends with them , and whoever makes friends with them — it is they who are the wrongdoers .
አላህ የሚከለክላችሁ ከእነዚያ በሃይማኖት ከተጋደሉዋችሁ ፣ ከቤቶቻችሁም ካወጡዋችሁ ፣ እናንተም በማውጣት ላይ ከረዱት ( ከሓዲዎች ) እንዳትወዳጁዋቸው ብቻ ነው ፡ ፡ ወዳጅ የሚያደርጓቸውም ሰዎች እነዚያ እነርሱ በዳዮቹ ናቸው ፡ ፡
