the likes of whom had never been created in the land ?
በዚያች ብጤዋ በአገሮች ውስጥ ያልተፈጠረ በኾነችው ፡ ፡

would that i had never chosen soandso for my companion !
« ዋ ጥፋቴ ! እገሌን ወዳጅ ባልያዝኩ ኖሮ እመኛለሁ ፡ ፡

" and that i had never known , how my account is ?
« ምርመራየንም ምን እንደኾነ ባላወቅኩ ፡ ፡

oh , would that i had never chosen such a one for my companion --
« ዋ ጥፋቴ ! እገሌን ወዳጅ ባልያዝኩ ኖሮ እመኛለሁ ፡ ፡

" and that i had never realised how my account ( stood ) !
« ምርመራየንም ምን እንደኾነ ባላወቅኩ ፡ ፡

had they been invaded from its flanks and had they been asked to apostatize , they would have done so with only a mild hesitation ,
በእነርሱም ላይ ( ቤቶቻቸው ) ከየቀበሌዋ በተገባባት ከዚያም ከኢስላም መመለስን በተጠየቁ ኖሮ በሠሯት ነበር ፡ ፡ በእርሷም ጥቂትን ጊዜ እንጂ አይቆዩም ነበር ፡ ፡

alas for me ! ah , would that i had never taken such an one for friend !
« ዋ ጥፋቴ ! እገሌን ወዳጅ ባልያዝኩ ኖሮ እመኛለሁ ፡ ፡

woe to me ! would that i had never taken so-and-so as a friend !
« ዋ ጥፋቴ ! እገሌን ወዳጅ ባልያዝኩ ኖሮ እመኛለሁ ፡ ፡

" ah ! woe is me ! would that i had never taken such a one for a friend !
« ዋ ጥፋቴ ! እገሌን ወዳጅ ባልያዝኩ ኖሮ እመኛለሁ ፡ ፡

and if entrance had been forced against them from those quarters , and then they had been asked to apostatise , they would have done so , and but tarried about it briefly .
በእነርሱም ላይ ( ቤቶቻቸው ) ከየቀበሌዋ በተገባባት ከዚያም ከኢስላም መመለስን በተጠየቁ ኖሮ በሠሯት ነበር ፡ ፡ በእርሷም ጥቂትን ጊዜ እንጂ አይቆዩም ነበር ፡ ፡

and as for him who is given his book in his left hand he shall say : o would that my book had never been given me :
መጽሐፉንም በግራው የተሰጠማ « ዋ ጥፋቴ ! ምነው መጽሐፌን ባልተሰጠሁ » ይላል ፡ ፡

we will tell them with absolute certainty ( what they had done ) for we had never been absent from them ( during their lifetime ) .
በእነርሱም ላይ ( የነበሩበትን ሁሉ ) ከዕውቀት ጋር በእርግጥ እንተርክላቸዋለን ፡ ፡ የራቅንም አልነበርንም ፡ ፡

the son of man indeed goeth, as it is written of him: but woe to that man by whom the son of man is betrayed! good were it for that man if he had never been born.
የሰው ልጅስ ስለ እርሱ እንደ ተጻፈ ይሄዳል፤ ነገር ግን የሰው ልጅ አልፎ ለሚሰጥበት ለዚያ ሰው ወዮለት፤ ያ ሰው ባልተወለደ ይሻለው ነበር አላቸው።

but if a bounty from god visits you , he will surely say , as if there had never been any affection between you and him , ' would that i had been with them , to attain a mighty triumph ! '
ከአላህም የኾነ ችሮታ ቢያገኛችሁ በእናንተና በእርሱ መካከል ፍቅር እንዳልነበረች ሁሉ « ታላቅ ዕድልን አገኝ ዘንድ ከነሱ ጋር በኾንኩ ወይ ምኞቴ ! » ይላል ፡ ፡

and if an entrance had been forced against them from its quarters , and then they had been asked to incite , they would have done so , and remained in it ( the city ) but a little ( time ) .
በእነርሱም ላይ ( ቤቶቻቸው ) ከየቀበሌዋ በተገባባት ከዚያም ከኢስላም መመለስን በተጠየቁ ኖሮ በሠሯት ነበር ፡ ፡ በእርሷም ጥቂትን ጊዜ እንጂ አይቆዩም ነበር ፡ ፡

the men who reject shu 'aib became as if they had never been in the homes where they had flourished : the men who rejected shu 'aib - it was they who were ruined !
እነዚያ ሹዓይብን ያሰተባበሉት በእርሷ እንዳልነበሩባት ኾኑ ፡ ፡ እነዚ ሹዓይብን ያስተባበሉት እነርሱ ከሳሪዎች ኾኑ ፡ ፡

but if bounty comes to you from allah , he will surely say , as if there had never been between you and him any affection . " oh , i wish i had been with them so i could have attained a great attainment . "
ከአላህም የኾነ ችሮታ ቢያገኛችሁ በእናንተና በእርሱ መካከል ፍቅር እንዳልነበረች ሁሉ « ታላቅ ዕድልን አገኝ ዘንድ ከነሱ ጋር በኾንኩ ወይ ምኞቴ ! » ይላል ፡ ፡

but , if the bounty of allah reaches you , he would surely say as if there had never been any affection between you and him : ' would that i had been with them ! i should have indeed won a great triumph '
ከአላህም የኾነ ችሮታ ቢያገኛችሁ በእናንተና በእርሱ መካከል ፍቅር እንዳልነበረች ሁሉ « ታላቅ ዕድልን አገኝ ዘንድ ከነሱ ጋር በኾንኩ ወይ ምኞቴ ! » ይላል ፡ ፡

have you not seen those who claim to believe in the book which has been revealed to you and in the books revealed before you , and yet desire to submit their disputes to the judgement of taghut ( the satanic authorities who decide independently of the law of allah ) , whereas they had been asked to reject it . and satan seeks to make them drift far away from the right way .
ወደ እነዚያ እነርሱ በአንተ ላይ በተወረደውና ከአንተ በፊትም በተወረደው አምነናል ወደሚሉት ፤ አላየህምን በእርሱ እንዲክዱ በእርግጥ የታዘዙ ሲኾኑ ወደ ጣዖት መፋረድን ይፈልጋሉ ፡ ፡ ሰይጣንም ( ከእውነት ) የራቀን መሳሳት ሊያሳስታቸው ይፈልጋል ፡ ፡

but if a bounty ( victory and booty ) comes to you from allah , he would surely say - as if there had never been ties of affection between you and him - " oh ! i wish i had been with them ; then i would have achieved a great success ( a good share of booty ) . "
ከአላህም የኾነ ችሮታ ቢያገኛችሁ በእናንተና በእርሱ መካከል ፍቅር እንዳልነበረች ሁሉ « ታላቅ ዕድልን አገኝ ዘንድ ከነሱ ጋር በኾንኩ ወይ ምኞቴ ! » ይላል ፡ ፡
