jesus saith unto him, i am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the father, but by me.
ኢየሱስም። እኔ መንገድና እውነት ሕይወትም ነኝ፤ በእኔ በቀር ወደ አብ የሚመጣ የለም።

said he , ' this is the truth , and the truth i say ;
( አላህ ) አለው « እውነቱም ( ከኔ ነው ) ፡ ፡ እውነትንም እላለሁ ፡ ፡

and verify ours is both the hereafter and the life present .
መጨረሻይቱም መጀመሪያይቱም ዓለም የእኛ ናቸው ፡ ፡

but rejected the truth and turned away !
ግን አስተባበለ ፤ ( ከእምነት ) ዞረም ፡ ፡

it is god who has sent down the book with the truth , and the balance . how do you know the hour is not near ?
አላህ ያ መጽሐፉን በእውነት ያወረደ ነው ፡ ፡ ሚዛንንም ( እንደዚሁ ) ፡ ፡ ሰዓቲቱ ምንአልባት ቅርብ መኾንዋን ምን ያሳውቅሃል ?

but he rejected ( the truth ) and disobeyed .
አስተባበለም ፤ አመጸም ፡ ፡

it is allah who has sent down the book in truth and the scale . and what will let you know ?
አላህ ያ መጽሐፉን በእውነት ያወረደ ነው ፡ ፡ ሚዛንንም ( እንደዚሁ ) ፡ ፡ ሰዓቲቱ ምንአልባት ቅርብ መኾንዋን ምን ያሳውቅሃል ?

allah it is who hath revealed the scripture with truth , and the balance . how canst thou know ?
አላህ ያ መጽሐፉን በእውነት ያወረደ ነው ፡ ፡ ሚዛንንም ( እንደዚሁ ) ፡ ፡ ሰዓቲቱ ምንአልባት ቅርብ መኾንዋን ምን ያሳውቅሃል ?

it is god who revealed the book with the truth , and the balance . and what will make you realize that perhaps the hour is near ?
አላህ ያ መጽሐፉን በእውነት ያወረደ ነው ፡ ፡ ሚዛንንም ( እንደዚሁ ) ፡ ፡ ሰዓቲቱ ምንአልባት ቅርብ መኾንዋን ምን ያሳውቅሃል ?

and the one who has brought the truth and [ they who ] believed in it - those are the righteous .
ያም በእውነት የመጣው በእርሱ ያመነውም እነዚያ እነርሱ አላህን ፊሪዎች ናቸው ፡ ፡

before them , the people of noah and the people of rass denied this truth ; and so did the people of thamud .
ከእነርሱ በፊት የኑሕ ሕዝቦችና የረሰስ ሰዎች ፤ ሰሙድም አስተባበሉ ፡ ፡

and they do not come to you with an argument except that we bring you the truth and the best explanation .
በጥያቄም አይመጡብህም እውነተኛውን ( መልስ ) መልካምን ፍችም የምናመጣልህ ብንኾን እንጅ ፡ ፡

this is because god is the supreme truth and whatever they worship besides him is falsehood . god is the most high and the most great .
ይህ አላህ እርሱ እውነት ከእርሱም ሌላ የሚግገዙት ( ጣዖት ) ውሸት በመሆኑና አላህም እርሱ የበላይ ታላቅ በመሆኑ ነው ፡ ፡

and the life of ease in which they took delight !
በእርሷ ተደሳቾች ከነበሩባትም ድሎት ( ብዙን ነገር ተዉ ) ፡ ፡

among the people of moses ' there was a party who guided others in the way of the truth and established justice in its light .
ከሙሳም ሕዝቦች በእውነት የሚመሩት በእርሱም ( ፍርድን ) የሚያስተካክሉ ጭፍሮች አሉ ፡ ፡

and no question do they bring to thee but we reveal to thee the truth and the best explanation ( thereof ) .
በጥያቄም አይመጡብህም እውነተኛውን ( መልስ ) መልካምን ፍችም የምናመጣልህ ብንኾን እንጅ ፡ ፡

and the hereafter is indeed better unto thee than the life present .
መጨረሻይቱም ( ዓለም ) ከመጀመሪያይቱ ይልቅ ላንተ በላጭ ናት ፡ ፡

allah it is who sent down this book with the truth and the balance . and what would make you know that the hour ( of judgement ) has drawn near ?
አላህ ያ መጽሐፉን በእውነት ያወረደ ነው ፡ ፡ ሚዛንንም ( እንደዚሁ ) ፡ ፡ ሰዓቲቱ ምንአልባት ቅርብ መኾንዋን ምን ያሳውቅሃል ?

and as for those who denied the truth and belied our signs and the meeting in the hereafter -- they shall be brought to the torment .
እነዚያም የካዱትማ በአንቀጾቻችንና በኋለኛይቱም ዓለም መገናኘት ያስተባበሉት እነዚያ በቅጣቱ ውስጥ የሚጣዱ ናቸው ፡ ፡

say , “ what are you to my lord without your prayers ? you have denied the truth , and the inevitable will happen . ”
« ጸሎታችሁ ባልነበረ ኖሮ ጌታዬ እናንተን ከምንም አይቆጥራችሁም ነበር ፡ ፡ በእርግጥም አስተባበላችሁ ፤ ወደ ፊትም ( ቅጣቱ ) ያዣችሁ ይኾናል » በላቸው ፡ ፡
